Capcom Co., Ltd. announced the second open beta test (OBT2) for "Monster Hunter Wilds," the latest installment in the Monster Hunter series, ahead of its launch on Friday, February 28, 2025.
It will run for a total of 8 days across all platforms: from Friday, February 7 to Monday, February 10, 2025, and from Friday, February 14 to Monday, February 17, 2025.
"Monster Hunter Wilds" Second Open Beta Test Announced!
On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, a "New Year's Greeting" video from Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto was released.
The video announced the OBT2 for "Monster Hunter Wilds!"
The OBT2 period is:
- From 12:00 PM JST on Friday, February 7, 2025 to 11:59 AM JST on Monday, February 10
- From 12:00 PM JST on Friday, February 14, 2025 to 11:59 AM JST on Monday, February 17
...for a total of 8 days.
The target platforms are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
Additionally, participation is open to those without PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Core or Ultimate subscriptions.
OBT2 will not support "PlayStation 5 Pro Enhanced" for an improved gaming experience on PlayStation 5 Pro, but support is planned for the retail version.
Returning Monster "Gypceros" Appears!

In OBT2, you can experience hunting the returning monster, Gypceros, in addition to "Character Creation," "Story Experience Quest," and "Doshaguma Hunting Quest."
New, enjoyable elements have been added, so even those who participated in the first open beta test are encouraged to try it again!
Participate in OBT2 to Get a Felyne Charm and Item Pack!
The participation bonuses for "Monster Hunter Wilds" OBT2 are as follows:
- OBT Play Bonus Charm "Stuffed Felyne Teddy"
- OBT2 Play Bonus Item Pack
To receive the bonuses, play the retail version using the same platform account used for OBT2 while connected to the internet.
Only one OBT Play Bonus Charm can be received per account.
The development team also emphasized that they are using the feedback and requests received from participants of the first open beta test to improve the quality of the retail version.
In December 2024, they also released a video, "Notice Regarding Adjustments for the Retail Version."
However, please note that these contents are not included in OBT2.
