Shiver is a Florida-based software development company specializing in games for multiple platforms. Since its founding in 2012, the studio has undertaken large-scale development projects commissioned by various game publishers. Recently, it has contributed to porting and developing titles such as Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1. In particular, the Hogwarts Legacy port for Nintendo Switch received praise for effectively adapting a high-spec open-world game to a portable console.

Relation to the Successor of Switch
Nintendo has indicated plans to announce the successor to the Nintendo Switch by March 2025. The acquisition of Shiver is viewed by some as a strategic move to secure resources for this next-generation hardware. The gaming industry is undergoing a period of restructuring, with major acquisitions and workforce adjustments occurring alongside continued market growth and intensifying competition.
For the current fiscal year, Nintendo expects the impact of this acquisition on business performance to be minimal.
