Nintendo announced that it will conduct an invitation-only sale for the "Nintendo Switch 2" in Japan starting in mid-September 2025.
This sale is for users who met the application requirements for the 5th lottery sale held in July 2025, and priority will be given to those who have been Nintendo Switch Online members for a cumulative total of 6 years or more.

An invitation-only sale for the "Nintendo Switch 2," with an expected delivery date of November 2025 or later, has been announced for users who were not selected in the 5th lottery sale.
Applications will be accepted starting in mid-September 2025, and the first round of invitations (for deliveries by Thursday, November 20, 2025) is scheduled to be sent out in early October 2025.
While there will be multiple rounds of invitations, the application period is scheduled to be a one-time event.
A select group of people will receive an invitation to purchase based on the availability of their desired product and their Nintendo Account usage history, among other factors. Those who receive an invitation can purchase their desired Nintendo Switch 2 console and peripherals within the specified period.
The second and third rounds of invitations are also planned for October or later, and those who receive an invitation by the third round can expect their product to arrive by the end of the year.
However, since there are a large number of eligible individuals, it will be difficult to send invitation-only sales announcements to all eligible individuals, even when combining the invitations up to the third round.
The following are the individuals eligible for the invitation-only sale:
- Those who applied for the 5th lottery sale and met the application requirements.
- Those who have never won a previous Nintendo Switch 2 lottery sale.
- Those who have no history of a Nintendo Account being linked to a Nintendo Switch 2 at the time of the invitation selection.
It's also been announced that since many users meet the above conditions, invitations for the sale will be sent out in order, based on Nintendo Account usage history and other factors.
For deliveries by the end of the year, invitations for the sale will be sent with priority given to those who have been Nintendo Switch Online members for a cumulative total of 6 years or more.
For all other users, the order of invitations will be determined based on factors such as the following:
- The number of Nintendo Switch games played (paid software only)
- The total playtime on Nintendo Switch (paid software only)
- The cumulative period of Nintendo Switch Online membership
Invitations for the sale are scheduled to be delivered via email, the "My Nintendo" app, and "News for you" on your Nintendo Account.
