Blizzard Entertainment's popular game Overwatch began Season 2: Summit on April 14, 2026.
A launch trailer has been released, and the Nintendo Switch 2 version is also set for release.
Season 2: Summit Update Details Announced!
The first new season since the title returned to Overwatch and the season numbering was reset is about to begin!
Season 2 is packed with new elements, including the debut of a new hero.
New Damage Hero Sierra Added! High Flexibility Is Her Signature Style
The new hero being added this time, Sierra, is the Head of Security for Watchpoint: Grand Mesa.
She was implemented as a damage hero who utilizes tools such as a combat drone, Dorothy, to attack opponents with her rifle while freely changing positions.
The trailer shows a scene where she marks and shoots down a Pharah in mid-air with an ability.
Pay close attention to the changes in the competitive environment following Sierra's addition.
New Event Operation: Grand Mesa Unfolds!
A new event spotlighting the newly added Sierra will also unfold!
This event consists of four parts.
By completing event challenges, you can enjoy Sierra's story, which has not been revealed in trailers or elsewhere.
The event period is from April 14, 2026, to May 4, 2026.
Do not miss out, as limited items such as icons can also be obtained as rewards.
Post-Match Accolades Return!
The voting feature implemented in the original Overwatch has returned!
This feature allows players to decide the MVP through a voting system.
You can praise players who made great plays that do not show up in the stats on the score screen.
Additionally, as a new element, voice chat will be possible after matches.
Praising each other's efforts after a match seems like it will become another way to enjoy the game.
Map ATLANTIC PENINSULA Rework
The Control map ATLANTIC PENINSULA, which was previously removed in an older version, has returned after being reworked!
Since the development team had mentioned that they had wanted to rework parts of the map for some time, this long-awaited rework has been realized.
Just like with Sierra, pay attention to the development of new strategies.
Two New Mythic Items with Extensive Customization Options!
The Soldier: 76 Mythic Skin Volted Overdrive and Genji Mythic Weapon Skin Sumi-ichimonji have been added!
Customizations for these skins can be unlocked by progressing through four levels.
Additional Updates Implemented for Stadium Mode!
As additional heroes, Ramattra was added at the start of the new season, and Jetpack Cat will be added in the latter half of the season.
Additionally, Juno will receive a rework, and the Control map LIJANG NIGHT MARKET will appear as a new Stadium map.
Furthermore, the rate reset method for Competitive Play has been changed to a decay system based on the league at the end of the season, refreshing the Stadium play experience.
Balance Adjustments for Existing Heroes
The following new perks have been introduced to some heroes during normal gameplay as well!
Balance adjustments have been implemented as follows:
- Ramattra: Prolonged Barrier, a Minor Perk that increases Void Barrier’s size and duration by 25%.
- Pharah: a new Minor Perk that lets Concussive Blast deal up to 50 explosion damage.
- Reaper: Trigger Finger, a new Major Perk that refreshes Dire Triggers cooldown when using an ability and reloading.
- Soldier: 76: Agility Training, a Major Perk that increases Sprint speed by up to 60% after two seconds of sprinting.
- Mercy: Double Dose, a Major Perk that gives Flash Heal an additional charge.
New Entries in the Sakura Skin Series!
New skins from the popular skin series Sakura are available in the in-game shop!
The target heroes for the new skins are Hanzo, Genji, Freja, Juno, Emre, and Junker Queen.
These are available for a limited time from April 14, 2026, to May 4, 2026.
LE SSERAFIM Collaboration Skins Return!
Collaboration skins with the popular five-member singing group LE SSERAFIM are returning!
Both the first and second collaboration skins will return at the same time.
These are available for a limited time from April 14, 2026, to April 28, 2026.
Season 2 Battle Pass Also Features Many Great Rewards!
With it being spring, this Battle Pass features skins for Ashe, Lifeweaver, Moira, Wuyang, and Echo based on Spring Fairy nature sprites as rewards!
It also includes items that can be used to unlock the Soldier: 76 Mythic Skin Volted Overdrive and the Genji Mythic Weapon Skin Sumi-ichimonji mentioned earlier.
Webtoon Overwatch: Undivided Begins Distribution!
Distribution of the new comic Undivided has also started in the Webtoon format, which can be read on vertical screens!
The comic will be updated weekly, allowing you to enjoy the story from a different perspective than the main game.

Nintendo Switch 2 Version of Overwatch Release Confirmed!
The long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 version of Overwatch is starting its distribution!
Compared to the conventional Switch version, it features higher image and sound quality.
The frame rate is also said to increase to 60fps!
Diablo Collaboration Confirmed!
In the released trailer, a Diablo collaboration was also announced!
The start date of the collaboration has not been announced yet.
Ramattra's presence is particularly striking this season.
