Learn more about "Homura/Hikari"!
We would like to introduce the operations of Homura and Hikari as explained by Masahiro Sakurai(@Sora_Sakurai), director of Smash Bros SP, in "How to use Hom ura/Hikari".
The video was shot in mid-January 2021, and the game screen is under development, so there is a possibility that some parts may differ from the production version.
Also, please note that the in-game camera will be used for development purposes, so you may not be able to get the same angles in the production version.
Homura/Hikari Basics
The new fighters joining the game are Homura and Hikari from "Xenoblade 2.
The pink bob-cut girl on the left is Homura, and the long blonde hair on the right is Hikari.
Rex, the main character, appears in the game, but he is not a fighter!
In the planning stage, they considered having Rex and Homura/Hikari fight as a set, but it was difficult because they are limited by the simplicity of an ice climber. No choice.
As for the design, some parts have been changed from the original in order to enter Smash Bros. which is CERO A for good kids.
Homura's absolute area, as it is commonly referred to, is now stocking ground. Are her flanks and back good...?
Hikari is a newly designed costume for multiplayer combat, newly drawn up for the Spirits of Smash Bros.
They've been reimported and updated for use in the main Xenoblade 2 game, so check back when you're playing the main game!
Homura and Hikari can switch between them at any time using their lower special moves.
You can change which one goes first at the start of a matchup by pressing the Y button when selecting a fighter.
Next, let's take a look at the color variations.
There are 8 colors for each of Homura and Hikari, so there are 16 colors available, but they are not freely combinable, and there are 8 sets.
The colors that have appeared so far are the 1P colors.
The 2P color is the image of " Pneuma. If you are interested in what "Pneuma" is, please play the original story.
The 3P colors are " Hikari style Homura" and "Homura style Hikari" which were also in the original work. It's complicated!
4P is Homura in the image of a cat ear hoodie and Hikari in the image of Nia.
5P is a villan style dark color. It is cool and cool.
6P is a fresh tricolor.
7P is realistic color with emphasis on tone.
8P is gold Homura and silver Hikari.
The 3P color is especially so, but returning to the color may delay your judgment for a moment as to which one it is now.
But note that the face and name are displayed in the info at the bottom of the screen, so if you check there, you will be exposed.
The difference between Homura and Hikari is simply that Homura is a "power type" and Hikari is a "speed type.
HIKARI is more athletic, moving and jumping much faster.
In addition to power and speed, each has its own special performance.
Homura's special performance is the " Flare Smash. It is an enhanced horizontal smash attack, with more damage and a larger flurry.
It has a large gap, but if it hits, it is huge, so it is a good idea to swing it wildly in large multiplayer battles.
HIKARI's special performance is " causality prediction.
It is triggered at the point of evasion, which would normally result in damage, and produces a damage reduction and a slight slowing effect.
It may be difficult to keep it on target, but it gives you a better chance to evade and counterattack.
The effect is similar to Bayonetta's "Bat Within.
Homura/Hikari's Normal Waza
Homura and Hikari use the same basic physical techniques for their normal moves, but their power and speed are different.
HIKARI is faster and HOMURA is more powerful than HIKARI. Homura's reach tends to be slightly longer.
Looking at the accumulated damage of the same waza, Homura's is about twice as powerful.
Of course, you can switch between Homura and Hikari depending on the situation, but there is no disadvantage if you don't switch, so you might as well use only the one you are better at.
A weak attack is an upper swing if it is a single hit.
If it is a continuous strike, it is a Hyakusai attack.
Almost all of the waza are performed as their names suggest: Homura is fire and Hikari is light.
Hikari's dash attack is quick and easy to close the gap.
Homura's dash attack is powerful and can aim to shoot down.
Hikari's strong attack comes out quickly and can be used as a check or a trick.
Homura's strong attack is powerful and can be a damage source.
Hikari's lower strong attack in particular is easy to connect with quite a few waza, although it depends on the opponent and accumulated damage.
Side smash attack. Homura's special " Flare Smash " is extremely powerful.
If it is at its maximum, it is powerful enough to shoot down from 20% accumulated damage, so you may be able to get a one-shot reversal.
However, the gap between the two is quite large, so be careful.
On the other hand, Hikari is less powerful, but its speed is faster, so it seems to be easier to use.
Hikari 's upper smash attack is a continuous hit.
Homura is a single, high-powered hit.
Both can hit from the front.
The lower smash attack is a simultaneous left and right attack.
As with the other attacks, Hikari is quicker.
Like the upper smash attack, the normal aerial attack is also a single, high-power hit for Homura and a series of hits for Hikari.
HIKARI's aerial control is superior to Homura's, so it is easier to connect to combos with HIKARI.
HIKARI may seem easier to use, but HOMURA's offensive power is overwhelming.
One hit can reverse the accumulated damage.
The lower aerial attack has a wider range and is easier to hit. Only Homura has a meteo effect.
Homura and Hikari have a weaker return, so be careful when chasing off cliffs.
Grabbing is also faster for Hikari and stronger for Homura.
The motion of the throw is the same for both Homura and Hikari, and the down throw is easier to combo for both Homura and Hikari.
Homura/Hikari Special Moves
Next, let's take a look at the special moves.
The lower special move is switched between Homura and Hikari, so there are three types of special moves: a normal special move, a horizontal special move, and an upper special move.
There are three types of special moves: a normal special move, a horizontal special move, and an upper special move.
Since they are based on the special moves of the original work, those who have already played the original work may grin.
Homura's normal special move is " Flame Nova. This is a move that causes the sword, which is covered in flames, to spin around.
Press and hold the button to increase the number of revolutions and power. If you hold the button down long enough, the power will increase to a level where you can aim to shoot down the opponent.
The simultaneous left and right attacks are strong in mixed battles, and it is also easy to flip.
It is possible to hoard while jumping, so it is effective to approach while jumping and hoarding.
Note that the haste cannot be canceled or held, so it will always be triggered when the button is pressed.
While on the ground, you can move slightly left or right. If you are shielded, it is recommended to move a little distance away.
Hikari's normal special move is the " Lightning Buster. It is a series of slashes.
The reach of the attack is slightly extended by holding the button down for a moment.
When stashed to the maximum, the number of slashes is increased by one, so the amount of damage dealt is greater.
The attack is judged only in the forward direction.
When activated, the attack is slightly invincible.
Homura's horizontal special move is " Blaze's End. It is a flying tool that throws a sword and hits continuously.
<pThe smash input increases the flying distance, but does not change the power.
However, the damage depends on how well you hit the target, so be sure to consider the distance between you and your opponent when using it.
The greatest feature is that you can control Homura while he is throwing the sword.
Since the sword is not in your hand, you cannot attack, but you can move, jump, shield, and evade.
Please note that there is a gap when receiving the sword.
Also, since the sword is thrown, it cannot be used for upper special moves, so be careful when using it outside of a cliff.
Also note that since it is a flying tool, it will be reflected.
Hikari's horizontal special move is " Photon Ed ge. It is a warp rushing attack that unleashes countless slashes.
It is similar to Sephiroth's "Eight Swords Flash," but it moves only horizontally and does not require a smash input.
It is a difficult move to deal with, so it is reliable, but beware of its large gap. It is also simply vulnerable to flying tools and shields.
It is also useful for recovery. If you are blown away by a Homura, you can switch to Hikari and use "Photon Edge" to get back to your feet.
If you use it a short distance away from a cliff, it will stay in place, but if the cliff is too close, it will jump out of the way.
Homura's upper special move is the " Prominence Revolt. This is a special move that sends a large column of fire when it lands after cutting up into the air.
It is basically used for recovery, but it can also be used to shoot down a target because of its high power.
The startup is faster than a smash attack, so it can also be used as an attack. It can also be used for combos.
It can move back and forth slightly, so after activating it, you can fine-tune it to your opponent's position and aim for a clean hit.
HIKARI's upper special move is the " Panishment Ray. After rising to the ground, it shoots a light bullet toward the ground.
HIKARI has another upper special move, " Rainbow Dust," which can be activated by pressing and holding or repeatedly pressing the button while ascending.
The "Panishment Ray" fires a single strong light projectile. Rainbow Dust" shoots 5 bullets in a fan shape.
The "Panishment Ray" has a longer range and is more effective in preventing a return.
The power of "Rainbow Dust" is higher if you hit more than one, but if you hit only one, the power is not so good.
Both of them are props, so they will be reflected.
And the lower special move, which I have used a lot so far, is change.
Homura changing to Hikari is called " Hikari Change," and Hikari changing to Homura is called " Homura Change.
It is possible to switch at high speed, and since there is a slight invincibility when transform ing, it is not impossible to use it for evasion.
The last trump card! The final trump card.
The final trump card is also different for Homura and Hikari. It's gorgeous!
Homura's final trump is the " Burning Sword.
She jumps up once with Rex and lands mysteriously. It then generates a large pillar of fire.
Hikari's last trump card is " Sacred Arrow.
Together with Rex, she sends countless bullets of light down from the sky.
Each projectile has its own damage distribution, so the damage depends on how it hits the target.
In terms of characteristics, Homura's "Burning Sword" is more focused on shooting down, while Hikari's "Sacred Arrow" is more focused on damage.
Both of them can engulf up to three people with Rex's slash at the time of activation.
Even if the first slash does not hit, if it is triggered, it will roll in a third person and inflict damage.
Neither Homura nor Hikari is stronger than the other, but both are fighters with different advantages.
Since you can switch between the two at any time, it would be good to be able to take advantage of their advantages depending on the battle situation.
Standard usage would be to use Hikari to gain damage in the early stages and then use Homura to shoot them down, or use Homura to attack aggressively when you have enough time and use Hikari to disrupt the situation when you are in a pinch.
As mentioned above, there is no disadvantage if you do not change the two, so you can continue to use either one of them.
Treatment of Rex, etc.
Rex is the main character in the original Xenoblade 2, but this time he did not participate as a fighter.
However, he does appear in Smash Bros. SP, as he did in the final cutout!
At the start of a brawl or when
Up Appeal
and on the victory screen, so he was able to maintain his status as the main character.
By the way, the victory screen will be the one you were controlling at the end of the fight.
Rex himself cannot be used, but you can get a Rex Mii Costume as a purchase bonus with the Fighter Pass Vol. 1, so you can dress up your Mii fighter as Rex.
Kirby Copy is also different for Homura and Hikari.
When you copy Homura, you can use "Flame Nova", and when you copy Hikari, you can use "Lightning Buster".
The special move used by Kirby's copy is more powerful than his original.
The attack power is added to take into account the time required for copying and the fact that he cannot choose his own special move.
This is a little-known trivia.
Tasting "Homura/Hikari
Mr. Sakurai gave us a sample of the "Homura/Hikari" game.
This time it was a team competition. The opponents are Black Pit, Zero Suit Samus, and Link, who were bullying Homura in the entry movie.
Let's see how they play this time!
Homura/Hikari" is now available!
The additional "Homura/Hikari Set" will be available for purchase on March 5, 2021 (Friday)!
The price of the set is 662 yen (tax included). The set is included in the Fighter Pass Vol. 2.
The game includes not only the playable characters "Homura/Hikari" but also a wide variety of music and spirit boards, and you may wonder if the price is really 662 yen.
This is a unique fighter that can switch between power type and speed type with a single character, so if you master it, you will probably be close to the strongest fighter in the world.
Take this time to review the controls and practice!
