Starting with EVO Japan 2023 at the end of March 2023, qualifying rounds were held around the world, and the SNK World Championship 2023 held its final qualifiers on Friday, March 15, 2024 (local time), with the grand finals taking place on Saturday, March 16, and Sunday, March 17, 2024.
As the tournament to determine the world's best in THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV at AVALON Hollywood in California, USA, there were so many legendary matches that it is impossible to simply describe them as "that one match..."

Announcement Trailer Revealing the New "REV" System!
In the newly released FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves Announcement Trailer (FATAL FURY: CotW | Announcement Trailer), the MVS cabinet—which we used to play obsessively at arcades and in front of candy stores back then—makes its appearance.
Just as the screen shows the original Fatal Fury: King of Fighters, the video becomes a montage of scenes from across the Fatal Fury series. At this point, the nostalgia starts to hit hard.
After that, Terry Bogard and Rock Howard appear, and following the display of a gauge labeled REVVING UP, "REV GUARD," "REV BLOW," "REV ARTS," and "REV ACCEL" are displayed alongside the battle screen of the two.
It seems that effects are occurring for each, so is this the new system "REV" that is said to accelerate the excitement? I'm curious!
The end of the trailer announces the release period as Early 2025, so new information will likely be revealed one after another from now on. As a precursor to that, I'll share one more piece of information released after this!

New Characters Also Revealed! Character Trailer Released!
While the announcement trailer alone has sent the world into a frenzy, the first character trailer, which reveals part of the participating roster, has been released!

It goes without saying that Rock Howard (Japanese Voice: Uchida Yuma) and Terry Bogard (Japanese Voice: Kondo Takashi) had already appeared in previous footage, but as this is a sequel to the previous title GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES, the popular character Hotaru Futaba (Japanese Voice: Iwami Manaka) and the King of Dinosaurs... Tizoc (Japanese Voice: Hanada Hikaru) will be returning!
And in this character trailer, PREECHA (Japanese Voice: Anzai Chika) has been revealed for the first time as a completely new character!
In the trailer, PREECHA sports a costume reminiscent of Joe Higashi, one of the protagonists from the previous series, and shows a fighting style suggestive of Muay Thai, so it's interesting to see what kind of connection this character might have.
While everyone except Terry Bogard was a new character in the previous title GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES, in this game, characters with connections to the series prior to that might be announced... perhaps?
