Unity and Epic Games have made an announcement that will significantly advance the future of game creation.
At Unity's worldwide event, the Unite conference, the leaders of both companies appeared on the same stage to announce a new initiative: not only will Unity developers be able to deploy the games they develop within Fortnite, but Unity's enhanced commerce platform will also be integrated into Unreal Engine.
Unity And Epic Games Announce New Partnership!
Unity games can now be brought into Fortnite, which boasts over 500 million registered accounts worldwide!
Developers will be able to publish their games within Fortnite's massive ecosystem while also participating in the Fortnite Creator Economy!
It was also announced at Unite that Unity's cross-platform commerce platform will be made available for Unreal Engine.
This will allow Unreal Engine developers to manage everything from digital catalogs and payments to web stores across PC, mobile, and the web.
Pricing, promotions, and live operations can be managed from Unreal Engine upon its release in the first half of 2026.
Matt Bromberg, the President and CEO of Unity, commented:

Tim Sweeney, the Founder and CEO of Epic Games, said:

Additional announcements are expected in 2026 regarding the details of the partnership and the product deployment timeline.
This highly exciting development is likely to further accelerate the movement to redefine the norms of game development.
