Samsung announced the new Galaxy Z Flip7 foldable smartphone at "Galaxy Unpacked July 2025" on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 (Japan time). In Japan, pre-orders will open on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 9:00 a.m., and the phone will go on sale on Friday, August 1, 2025.

PR TIMESThe Galaxy Z Flip7 is a vertically folded smartphone with a 6.9" main display and a 4.1" cover display. The cover display of this model has been enlarged from 3.4 inches of the previous "Galaxy Z Flip6" to 4.1 inches. Not only is the screen larger, but the bezels are narrower, creating a more immersive cover display.
The larger cover display allows Google Gemini's Gemini Live to be used even when the device is closed. Peak brightness is now 2600 nits, the same as the main display, so the cover display can be handled comfortably even under the hot sun.
The thinnest ever in the "Galaxy Z Flip" series
PR TIMESThe Galaxy Z Flip7 is 13.7mm thick when closed and 6.5mm thick when open. Compared to the previous model, it is 1.2mm thinner when closed and 0.4mm thinner when open, making it the thinnest Galaxy Z Flip series ever.
The CPU uses Samsung's proprietary Exynos 2500 chip. Although it does not have the performance of the "Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy" in the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold7, it has improved performance compared to the "Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy" in the previous model. It has improved performance compared to its predecessor, the "Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy". It has 12GB of memory and 256GB/512GB of storage.
PR TIMESThe camera performance includes a 50-megapixel wide-angle main + 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle out camera and a 10-megapixel in-camera lens. The camera performance is the same as the previous model, but the larger cover display makes it easier than ever to take selfies.
The battery has a capacity of 4,300 mAh. While the case is thinner than the previous model, the battery performance is more comfortable to use, with approximately 8 hours of continuous video playback time.
Other features include Galaxy AI as well as Samsung DeX support for the first time in the Galaxy Z Flip series. When connected to a monitor or AR glasses, users can work in a PC-like environment.
"Galaxy Z Flip7" will be available for pre-order on Thursday, July 17!
PR TIMESThe "Galaxy Z Flip7" is priced at 164,800 yen (including tax) for the 256GB model and 182,900 yen (including tax) for the 512GB model at Samsung's online store. A free "genuine mobile battery" will be offered to those who pre-order during the pre-order period of July 17, 2025 (Thu.) 9:00 - July 31, 2025 (Thu.) 23:59.
