Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the PlayStation PULSE Wireless Headset and the premium PULSE Edge Wireless Headset, two new audio models for PlayStation 5.
The PlayStation PULSE will launch in select regions starting during the 2026 holiday season, while the PULSE Edge will roll out beginning in early 2027.
New PlayStation PULSE and PULSE Edge Headsets for PS5 Debut With Enhanced Bass Over Previous Models
Both the PlayStation PULSE Wireless Headset and PULSE Edge Wireless Headset feature custom-designed planar magnetic drivers, technology often utilized in professional studio audio equipment.
Thanks to drivers that are larger than before, both headsets retain the crystal-clear sound acclaimed in the PULSE Elite while delivering richer, deeper bass.
In addition to distinguishing individual sounds with clarity, players can accurately perceive the position and direction of in-game audio.
In competitive FPS titles, this makes it easier to pinpoint the exact direction of footsteps, reloading sounds, and other audio cues.
PlayStation Link Delivers Lossless, Ultra-Low Latency Connectivity

Both models support PlayStation Link, achieving lossless, ultra-low latency audio.
Players can seamlessly switch connections between PlayStation Link-supported devices, including the PS5, PlayStation Portal Remote Player, PC, and Mac.
Simultaneous connection with compatible Bluetooth devices is also supported.
New Design Featuring AI-Enhanced Noise-Rejection Microphone

The built-in microphone features AI-powered noise rejection that suppresses background sound to deliver clear voice chat during gaming.
The physical design has been overhauled for long-lasting comfort and durability, allowing the earcups to swivel flat for convenient portability.

Both models will be available in two colorways: White and Midnight Black.
Premium PULSE Edge Features ANC and a Detachable Boom Mic
PlayStation.BlogThe driver in the premium PULSE Edge uses eight magnets—double that of the PlayStation PULSE.
This produces even richer, deeper bass while maintaining the precision and clarity needed to hear subtle details.
Along with active noise cancellation to suppress unwanted ambient noise, the headset includes a detachable boom microphone for clearer voice chat.
When you detach the boom microphone, you can still use the headset's built-in microphone.
Crafted from premium materials for a comfortable fit, it also comes with a carrying case to protect the headset during travel.
Physical Units on Display at the Tokyo Game Show 2026 PlayStation Booth
At the PlayStation booth during Tokyo Game Show 2026, held at Makuhari Messe from Thursday, September 17 to Monday, September 21, 2026, physical units of both models will be displayed inside display cases.
The PlayStation PULSE Wireless Headset will launch in select regions starting during the 2026 holiday season, while the PULSE Edge Wireless Headset will launch starting in early 2027.
Pre-order start dates, release dates, and pricing details will be announced soon.
