Danish gaming gear brand SteelSeries announces a firmware update for its entire Apex Pro series of keyboards. The update will apply the Rapid Trigger feature to existing products, as well as expand the range of actuation point adjustments.
Rapid Trigger takes speed to the next level
SteelSeries' Apex Pro series has been a favorite of many gamers since its initial release as a keyboard that is 11 times faster than its predecessors thanks to the OmniPoint 2.0 switches. A new firmware update is now available for all products in the Apex Pro series. The new firmware update will include the Rapid Trigger function, which has been used by professional gamers, and an option to expand the range of adjustment for the actuation point!

Addition of Rapid Trigger function
On a normal keyboard, input occurs when the keyboard is pressed down to a certain point, and is released when the keyboard rises to the same point. However, when the Rapid Trigger function is turned on, input is released the moment a key rises from the depressed state. This eliminates the need to be aware of the release point when inputting a series of hits, allowing for more intuitive operation.
Expanded range of actuation point settings
The actuation point is the line that indicates how much you have to press down on the keyboard to reach a certain point in time. The Apex Pro series has been known for its ability to set the actuation point from 0.2mm to 3.8mm in 0.1mm increments for each key, but this firmware update expands the setting range! After the update, it can be set in 40 steps from 0.1mm to 4.0mm!
The Rapid Trigger function is known for its great advantage in realizing operations such as stoppage in VALORANT, complex character control in Apex Legends, and high-speed building in Fortnite, among others, and is highly supported by professional e-sports players. I know many of you have dared to replace your keyboards with Rapid Trigger functionality, but it is nice to see a new feature added to an existing product. If you liked the Apex Pro but now it's in the closet... apply the firmware update and experience its benefits!
