The Nintendo Switch 2 software Kirby Air Riders was released on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
This title is the first entirely new game in 22 years since the GameCube software "Kirby Air Ride," which launched in 2003.
"Kirby Air Riders" Finally Released
"Kirby Air Riders" is an action racing game in which Kirby and other Riders compete in races and battles aboard unique vehicles called Air Ride Machines.
The game features three modes to enjoy: the exhilarating action race Air Ride, which supports up to 6 players; the lighthearted, top-down view race Top Ride, which supports up to 8 players; and City Trial, where up to 16 players battle after powering up their machines. Its appeal lies in its ability to bring friends together for local play or to compete against players worldwide online, truly making it a game for everyone.
The game also includes Road Trip, a single-player mode that lets you experience all three modes: Air Ride, Top Ride, and City Trial. It features a story where the Riders embark on a journey following a certain event, requiring players to clear various objectives while progressing through multiple stages. Additionally, the My Machine feature allows you to customize your machine's design to your liking, offering substantial content for solo play.
In-Game Event to be Held
The first in-game event, Everyone, to the Stadium!, will be held from November 27, 2025, to November 30, 2025. In the City Trial mode, battles will be fought under a rule where the Stadium is fixed to a single one after the 5-minute time limit has passed. In-game events are scheduled to continue for one year after the game's release. The event times are as follows:
- 7pm to 9pm PT
- 3am to 5am PT
- 11am to 1pm PT
amiibo Also Released
The amiibo for Kirby & Warp Star and Bandana Waddle Dee & Winged Star were released simultaneously with the software. The machine and rider parts can be detached and swapped. By scanning them on Nintendo Switch 2, you can summon an FP (Figure Player) to race with you, and the main menu icon will also change. They are also larger than regular amiibo.
Icon Elements Appear in "Missions & Gifts"
Icon parts for Kirby Air Riders are now available for "Nintendo Switch Online" subscribers to redeem as Platinum Point gifts. They will be distributed on a weekly rotating basis from Thursday, November 20, 2025, until Friday, December 26, at 9:59 AM.
