Full 3D Remake RPG "Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven" Now on Sale! Release Commemoration Events, Too

Square Enix announced the release of the RPG "Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven" starting on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
Also included is information on a demo version with transferable save data, as well as campaigns and collaborations commemorating the release!

"Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven" Can Be Enjoyed Even by Those New to the Series!

This title is a fully 3D remake of "Romancing SaGa 2," which was released in 1993.
Although it is the second title in the series, the story does not directly continue, so even those who have not played the original can fully enjoy it!

While inheriting the unique systems of the original SaGa series that set it apart from other RPGs, the game has been rebuilt with an evolved battle and growth system, the addition of difficulty settings, and refreshed 3D visuals, so both newcomers to the SaGa series and fans of the original can fully enjoy it.
This title has been released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam.

Story

A grand story with a free-form scenario, depicting the battle between the ancient heroes "Seven Heroes" and the successive emperors of the Empire of Varennes.

Imperial Year 1000.
In a world plagued by terrifying monsters and unending wars between competing nations, the people awaited the fulfillment of the legend of the "Seven Heroes," who were said to appear in times of chaos to save the world.
One day, Kzinssie, one of the Seven Heroes, suddenly attacked Avalon, the capital of the Empire of Varennes. He trampled the people and took the life of the empire's courageous heir, Prince Victor.
The legend was a lie.
As this fact plunged the people into despair and sorrow, Emperor Leon, Victor's father, swore a firm oath of revenge against the Seven Heroes, who possessed immense power.
With the Legendary Succession technique granted to him by the sorceress O'Aieve, he found a way to counterattack at the cost of his own life, and passed on his power and memories to his other son, Gerard.
And so, the curtain rises on a long and fierce death struggle between the emperors of the empire and the Seven Heroes—a poetic tale of a distant battle.

Today, we have safely reached the release day of "Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven."

Over these past three years, I have faced the work that is Romancing SaGa 2, and what I have realized once again is the greatness of the original staff, beginning with Kawazu.
The experience of passing on the imperial throne one after another to defeat the Seven Heroes, and weaving a history of thousands of years.
I take my hat off to them for thinking up such a unique setting during an era when orthodox RPGs were at their peak.

Every day, I discussed with the development staff about how we could make this work fun for the modern era, and I thought seriously with the publicity staff about how we could convey that fun.
Thinking that my days with Romancing SaGa 2 will end makes me a little sad, but I'm also very excited that players will finally be able to play it.

We worked very hard on it. I hope as many people as possible will play it.

To commemorate the release of this title, an event will be held at the Tower Records Shibuya store from 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
