Nintendo has released the Nintendo Switch 2 game, Star Fox, on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Nintendo also revealed information regarding a collaboration event with Tetris 99 and theater-exclusive gifts for the movie, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
Nintendo Switch 2 Game, Star Fox, Released!
Star Fox is a remake of the Nintendo 64 game Star Fox 64. Nintendo completely overhauled and optimized the graphics and character designs for the Nintendo Switch 2. The remake also introduces substantial additions, including between-stage briefings, brand-new movie scenes, and encyclopedia text detailing characters and planets.
A demo version is now available on the Nintendo Store and Nintendo eShop. In addition to watching the game's prologue video, players can experience a tutorial to learn basic controls and play through the early stage, Meteo.
Icon Elements Arrive in Missions & Gifts
Icon Elements for this title are now available as Platinum Point rewards that Nintendo Switch Online members can redeem. Nintendo will distribute these weekly over four weeks from Thursday, June 25, 2026, to Thursday, July 23, 2026.
Nintendo Announces MAXIMUS CUP "Star Fox Edition!"
The Nintendo Switch Online exclusive game, Tetris 99, will host the "Star Fox Edition!" from Friday, July 10, 2026, to Tuesday, July 14, 2026. The graphics and BGM will switch to a Star Fox theme, and players can obtain a special theme by earning 100 event points.
Movie Theaters to Distribute Exclusive Fox Design Clear File Folder
The movie, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, currently in theaters, features Fox McCloud, the leader of Star Fox. Starting Friday, June 26, 2026, movie theaters will distribute the Exclusive Fox McCloud Clear File Folder featuring the movie's version of the character in limited quantities as the 5th wave of theater-exclusive gifts.
