Golden Week is finally here!
And with Golden Week comes energy drinks!
So during the holidays, we at saiganak.com will be reviewing some of the most unusual energy drinks we've acquired from around the world!
This time, we'll be reviewing a rare Red Bull energy drink with the cold brew coffee flavor, which is not yet available in Japan!
First, let's check the package.
Underneath the cool Red Bull logo, a coffee bean is printed proudly! The overall coloring is coffee-inspired, so it's easy to see what's going on!
And then, on the left package image, there is an unfamiliar language...
What a surprise, this one is in Vietnamese! Yes, this time the energy drink was obtained in Vietnam!
Check out the nutritional information!
Now that we have the coffee flavored Red Bull from Vietnam, here are the ingredients per bottle that we are interested in.
- Taurine 1000mg
- Caffeine 80mg
- Inositol 50mg
- Choline bis(tartrate) 50mg
- Lysine 50mg
- Vitamin B3 30mg
- Vitamin B5 7mg
- Vitamin B6 6mg
- Vitamin B12 7㎍
And I'm happy to report that it has 80 mg of caffeine, just like regular Red Bull!
I actually drank it!
First, let's check the color of the energy drink!
It's black! Most energy drinks have a clear, bright coloring, but this one is exactly the color of black coffee!
I still can't drink coffee without sugar, but will I be able to finish this black liquid? However, contrary to its appearance, there is also a sweet aroma of coffee wafting from the bottle as soon as it is opened !
I drank it with trepidation and found it to be... sweet! It's so sweet!
I remember the overwhelming sweetness that spreads after the refreshing carbonation!
It was the nostalgic taste of " coffee candy " that crossed the sea of carbonated drinks and came to me via Vietnam!
I am not used to drinking energy drinks, but this one tasted so familiar that I was able to enjoy it with gusto!
If you travel to Vietnam, be sure to get one!
If you like sweet coffee or something different, I highly recommend this drink! Coffee and energy drinks are often compared, but the fact that you can consume both at once makes it all the more appealing!
Currently, it seems to be marketed mainly in Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries, and the price in Vietnam is about 70 yen per bottle ! Cheap! Why not buy a box when you travel to Vietnam?
I look forward to the day when they will be available in Japan as well.
