ACGHK2024] Special Interview with Cosplayers Ayaki Miyamoto & Eri! Behind the Scenes at Hong Kong's Anime Fest!

ACGHK 2024 (Hong Kong Comic and Cartoon Festival), one of the largest anime, manga, and game festivals in Hong Kong, which celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, was held from July 26 (Friday) to July 30 (Tuesday), 2024, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (香港會議展覽中心). The event was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from July 26 (Fri.) to July 30 (Tue.) and successfully concluded. In this issue, we will report on the stage performances of Ayaki Miyamoto and Eri, who were invited as guests to the "Asia Pacific Cosplay Carnival (亞太區Cosplay嘉年華)," as well as interviews conducted backstage!

Cosplayers from all over the world came to the Asia Pacific Cosplay Carnival to show off their faithful renditions of anime and video game characters. Ayaki Miyamoto and Eirashi from Japan, Clow and Ale from Spain, Tomia and Berry from Korea, and Xiao Du and Xiao Bai from Taiwan participated. BaLance, V-Project, and iMOTiON were also present from Hong Kong.

Backstage interview!

In a post-stage interview, they talked about how they felt about performing in Hong Kong for the first time, as well as about where to eat and places to go in Hong Kong.

Q. This was your first time attending an event in Hong Kong, what was your impression?

Ayaki Miyamoto: There were a lot of people there, and I felt a lot of excitement.

Eri: It was the first time for me to attend such an event overseas, but I was very happy to see everyone waving to me so cheerfully.

Q. Is there any food you would like to try in Hong Kong?

Eri: I like sweets, so I wanted to try the egg tart. I received it just yesterday and enjoyed it.

Ayaki Miyamoto: I would like to try wonton noodle soup. I love to drink alcohol, so I would like to try Qingdao Beer.

Q. Is there any place you would like to visit in Hong Kong?

Eri and Ayaki Miyamoto: I would like to visit Hong Kong Disneyland!

Q: Can you tell us about your favorite anime character or performance you have seen on stage?

Ayaki Miyamoto: "Card Captor Sakura" Clear Card Arc!

Eri: "Spy Family" is one of my favorites, so I really liked the performance of "Spy Family" that I mentioned earlier.
