"Automotive World," an advanced automotive technology exhibition, was held at Tokyo Big Sight from Wednesday, January 22, to Friday, January 24, 2025.
Many companies from around the world exhibited at the event, which focused on cutting-edge automotive themes such as electric vehicles, autonomous driving, and carbon neutrality.
At "Automotive World 2025," exhibits were showcased in several categories, including the Automotive Electronics Technology Expo and the Sustainable Mobility Technology Expo. "DeepRoute.ai," a technology company headquartered in Shenzhen, China, specializing in the research, development, and application of smart driving solutions, made its debut at the "8th Autonomous Driving EXPO," a specialized exhibition focused on autonomous driving!
A seminar by Xuan Liu was held, and we've reported on it!
Xuan Liu Conducts Technology Session!

At the venue, Xuan Liu from "DeepRoute.ai" conducted a technology session.
"DeepRoute.ai" is a unicorn company that developed China's first mass-producible smart driving solution and has also received investment from Mercedes-Benz.

"DeepRoute.ai" began road testing its E2E model in 2024 and has already released models equipped with this technology to the market.
Unlike conventional end systems, the E2E architecture integrates multiple modules into a single network.
By integrating, the loss of information between modules can be avoided, leading to an improvement in the quality of learned rules.

Initially, the function was only available in 4 cities in China, but its coverage expanded across China in just 3 months.
They conducted demonstrations in 31 provinces in China, accumulating 23,000 kilometers of driving data.
The collected data can be used to optimize models and systems, and it is expected that their ability to handle various complex scenarios will further improve in the future.
Currently, models equipped with "DeepRoute IO" exceed 30,000 units, and high-quality data is continuously flowing in.
They are building a solid foundation for the development of the next-generation VLA model (Vision, Language, Action) by utilizing the acquired data.

The E2E model also has the disadvantage of being uninterpretable, meaning it sometimes couldn't handle unusual road signs or rarely seen scenarios effectively with the current model.
However, by adding language, it can perform accurate actions and handle more complex situations.
It also possesses the ability to identify road signs in reversible lanes and analyze which lanes can be used, as well as decision-making capabilities to understand the surrounding environment, such as nearby vehicles and scooters, and adjust driving accordingly.
The VLA model is scheduled for mass production in mid-2025 and is expected to become more understandable for autonomous driving decisions, leading to significant advancements in immediacy and reliability.

Models equipped with "DeepRoute.ai"'s autonomous driving technology and the E2E model were first released in August 2024, and now over 30,000 vehicles have been sold.
They achieved three times the sales compared to models not equipped with smart driving and became a bestseller in that class.
From September to December 2024, they captured a 10% share of the NOA market in urban areas within China.
By the end of 2025, the number of vehicles sold equipped with "DeepRoute.ai"'s autonomous driving technology is expected to exceed 200,000 units, and they plan to launch projects for over 10 vehicle models, including SUVs, MPVs, and off-road vehicles.

"DeepRoute.ai" recently announced the signing of a strategic partnership with the German automaker "smart" and revealed that it plans to actively expand overseas by establishing an office in Germany and commencing road tests in 2025.
Their goal is to cooperate with automakers globally, not just in mainland China, to provide smart driving vehicles worldwide.
Furthermore, while autonomous driving solutions are currently concentrated in automobiles, they aim to implement them in other robots in the future.
Anticipating a Future Where Time Spent in Cars Can Be Used Effectively!

At "DeepRoute.ai"'s booth, experimental footage of a model equipped with "DeepRoute IO" was broadcast.
As conveyed by the released autonomous driving video, the high quality of the autonomous driving technology, such as obstacle recognition and smooth navigation through complex intersections, is evident.
Until now, it was possible to effectively use travel time on trains and buses, but in the coming era, when traveling by car, the driving might be left to autonomous systems, allowing drivers to effectively use their travel time for gaming, reading, or sleeping. That era might be just around the corner.
This was the first time their technology was showcased in the Japanese market, and it will be interesting to see if cars equipped with "DeepRoute.ai"'s smart driving technology appear in Japan in the near future!
