Additional information has been released for the Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Exhibition Dragon Quest the DIVE: Mada Minu Bouken no Butai e (To the Stage of Unseen Adventures) (hereinafter DQ 40th Exhibition), which will run from Friday, July 17 to Sunday, September 6, 2026!
The exhibition of development materials, original artwork, and sheet music, as well as details on limited-edition merchandise, have been announced.

At the DQ 40th Exhibition, after passing through the entrance and experiencing the immersive attraction Dragon Quest VR RIDE, you can enjoy various content across each area.
40th Anniversary Exhibition: "How Dragon Quest Was Born"
In the COVER and Temple Area on the 2nd floor of this venue, development materials from Yuji Horii, original artwork from Akira Toriyama, and sheet music from Koichi Sugiyama will be on display under the theme of how the very first game in the series, Dragon Quest, was born!
There will also be a timeline looking back on the 40-year history of the Dragon Quest series.
Since taking photos and videos is prohibited in the Temple Area, you should definitely visit the venue and see the history of Dragon Quest with your own eyes.
Limited-Edition Merchandise and More on Sale at the "Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Item Shop"!
Inside the venue, the Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Item Shop will open, featuring a large selection of Dragon Quest the DIVE limited-edition merchandise, Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary merchandise, and more!

The main content of the event, Dragon Quest VR RIDE, is an attraction that utilizes the latest VR device—Meta Quest 3—and motion seats to sprint through the world of Dragon Quest expanding across 360 degrees.
You can enjoy a high-impact immersive experience that can only be found here, including running through a vast field riding a Great Sabrecat, encountering monsters unfolding right before your eyes, and engaging in battles.
Also, from 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 on the official YouTube channel of Square Enix, the earliest test-drive report of the VR RIDE currently in production is scheduled to be broadcast during Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Everyone's Celebration Live Stream feat. Eiko Kano's Critikanohit.
