Shadowverse lovers gathered at Bellesalle Akihabara!
The "RAGE Shadowverse 2024 Summer" GRAND FINALS will be held at Bellesalle Akihabara in Tokyo. It is a familiar venue from past RAGE Shadowverse tournaments! The excitement of the event beckons people to the venue as they pass by the pedestrian mall, which has completely come back to life.
A large, conspicuous signboard. It was impressive to see many foreigners at the event.
In the event space on the first floor, there was a special stage, official merchandise booth, exhibition booth, and cosplayers' photo session. Even those who were not there for the event could drop by for free admission, and the place was lively throughout the day.
The special stage was filled with many events only available here!
On the Special Stage...
- Limited Resurrection of Shadowverse Su Academy!
- The final episode of #MajicalShadowverse! #MajicalShadowverse
- Shadowverse love is strong with us! Shadowverse Academy vs #MadicalShadowverse
- Shadowverse Rankings!
Shadowverse Ranking, Shadowverse Academy, and many other events were held. These were offline-only events with no distribution! There are too many contents that only those who came to Bellesalle Akihabara can enjoy.
The "Watching the RAGE Shadowverse 2024 Summer" GRAND FINALS together with famous players was a lot of fun! We sometimes talked about other games (?) and had a lot of fun. The streaming was a lot of fun, sometimes talking about other games. You can check out the video on the YouTube channel " Tsuruoka Kamonohashi".
The official sales booth was sold out one after another!
Long lines at the booths!
Many items, especially rubber mats, were already sold out by the time it was past noon.
There were many players with shoppers in the hall, reminding us once again of the popularity of Shadowverse.
Exhibition booth
The booth was lined with all of the previous "Shadowverse" card packs and the real promotional cards that represented them!
What is your favorite card? I like the good old "Monk of the Hammer"! Of course, it's not on display!
There were autographs from many Shadowverse fans, influencers, and voice actors.
Crystal Noda of the comedian and comedic duo, Magical Lovely, who also appeared at the side event, and former professional player, Rigze.
yunocy, who showed off her Dreizen cosplay at the cosplayers' photo session, and voice actress Yui Ogura, who played the role of Luna.
Mao Mita, who is also well-known for his role in "Majishad," or "Magical Shadowverse," and Tomokazu Sugita, the voice actor who plays Rowen.... The number of people involved in the 8th anniversary of the event is impressive! As we head into the ninth year of Shadowverse and "Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond," Shadowverse is only going to get more exciting!
Cosplayers Photo Session
Next to the event stage, cosplayers Myako (@myakkomyako ) and yunocy (@mizuyuno_ ) will be holding a photo session! Shadowverse players who won the lottery will be able to take 2-shot and 3-shot photos!
Myako is the well-known Arisa. Myako is Alisa, a familiar face, and yunocy is Dreizene from "Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond".
There will be opportunities to play against famous players!
On the second floor of the event hall, there was a "Battle Royale" where you could aim for the record for consecutive wins and play against famous players.
One of the appeals of "Shadowverse" is that you can play anytime, anywhere, as long as you have a smartphone. In the "Battle Royale" event, players who came to the event will engage in a heated battle for the record of consecutive victories.
The "Battle Royale" will be held next to the "Battle Royale", where you may be able to play against famous players!
okou-san
Mokou-san will play against players selected by lottery!
Shadowverse players have to have luck, right? The audience was excited to see Mokou-san's shocking play.
The final RAGE Shadowverse winner was crowned!
While many exhibits and events were held at Bellesalle Akihabara, the main event was the "RAGE Shadowverse 2024 Summer" GRAND FINALS. The eight winners of the qualifying rounds held at Makuhari Messe gathered for the event! The 30th RAGE Shadowverse champion was decided in a fierce battle.
The two players who advanced to the finals were Yuto Fujiwara and N/S (read: Nekosogi).
RAGE Shadowverse has been held 29 times, but this is said to be the last time it will be held under the current "Shadowverse" format.
The casters were excited to see the final battle. They were also excited to see how the battle would unfold.
The venue was so packed that the entrance was restricted. Everyone cheered with balloons.
On a separate floor, there is also a spectator streaming. While people on the main stage were watching the matches with bated breath, this was a different atmosphere to enjoy the "RAGE Shadowverse 2024 Summer" GRAND FINALS.
It was a back-and-forth battle, but N/S (@zeruda_sv ), who won his second straight game, showed calm and steady play to win! He was crowned the 30th Champion!
Interview after the game
- How did you feel today?
N/S: Was there a game that we played well? N/S: I feel like there were some matches that I did well, but I don't really feel it yet. Maybe I will feel the victory for the first time when the prize money comes in (laughs).
- You mentioned that you wanted to use the prize money for skydiving.
N/S: A year or two ago, I wanted to go skydiving, but it was rained out. I thought it would be a good opportunity to try again!
- Tell us about your Shadowverse history.
N/S: I started playing a little after the game was released, so about 7 years.
- Have you been playing card games for a little longer?
N/S: Yes, I have. I started playing cards when I was in elementary school under the influence of my older brother, but I only played with my friends and played according to some rules. Shadowverse is the first time I played against other players in earnest.
- Now Shadowverse is reaching a turning point. What do you think is the appeal of Shadowverse for people who are thinking about starting the game?
N/S: I think it's great that it's so easy to play on a smartphone. I think it's great that you can play even when there are communication restrictions. Also, the controls and UI are good, so I hope they will be carried over to "Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond.
- What are your expectations for "Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond"?
N/S: I think it would be better if the game is not too complicated at first. But winning this tournament has given me more reasons to play "Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond". I would be happy if I could contribute to the excitement of the game, even if only a little.
