On Monday, September 30, 2024, Overwatch 2 and RED° TOKYO TOWER held a media presentation of their collaboration event. This is the first time that Overwatch 2 is collaborating with "RED° TOKYO TOWER" under the auspices of Alma Bianca, and the event is attracting a great deal of attention as the largest collaborative decoration in the world. Blizzard Korea Studio, the artists in charge of the event's key visuals, will be visiting Japan from Korea, and visitors will be able to see live drawings of the event! The artist and POKImari, the creator of the merchandise, also gave a presentation on the illustrations and design.
Dospi Jin, the artist from "Blizzard Korea Studio" in charge of the key visuals.
Dospi Jin: Overall, we designed the game with the concept of bright and hopeful heroes protecting people. All heroes in Overwatch 2 have an interesting story to tell. For the story of the illustration, we chose three heroes with roots in Japan, and the three heroes who came to play with the Tokyo Tower protect it from evil! This is the story of the project.
All three of them designed their clothes with references from Japanese street fashion.
Chirico in particular was the most elaborate in his design, inspired by the red color of the Tokyo Tower and " Chirico wants to go for a run right now.
I hope that this illustration will help people who are not yet familiar with Overwatch 2 to become aware of the game.
The Japanese fashion influence was street fashion, which was decided by a team of artists from the Blizzard Korea Studio. It is difficult to know if the skin of Chirico can be incorporated into the game since we are not in the skin department, but we have already received feedback from social networking sites, so let's raise our voices on social networking sites for the implementation of the skin!
Mr. POKImari in charge of illustrations for new original goods
POKImari is a Japanese illustrator and a talented creator who is active mainly in the game media.
POKImari: I have tried to incorporate " heroic " elements and motifs into street fashion to make people more attached to the heroes.
D.VA kept the iconic headphones and chest, and the tracers were orange instead of using other colors. By adding light blue accents, we tried to ensure that the tracers would be visible from a distance when used as small goods.
Chirico is a men's fashion style, with a touch of black and red, but not too much. The belt is finished in the style of Chirico.
Lucio's silhouette is the same, but it's a bit more slouchy, which is boring, and Kassidy' s is more austere with a muffler and a cigarette, two of his original icons, under the theme of "adult charm and dandy.
The D.VA and Tracer designs worked well, and Tracer said he was very attached to it because it was the first time he had designed a full-body orange design. POKImari said that Chirico was his favorite and that he had decided from the beginning to draw him in the center. It is nice to see Chirico after hearing the artist's opinion, and it gives a special feeling.

Mr. Taejun Kim, who has worked at a Japanese company with us.
Mr. Dospi Jin practiced more than 10 hours for this day.
Mr. Kim Tae-jung: I wrote these two heroes because Chirico and Genji have been good friends for a long time and I wanted them to be the main characters. Genji dared to keep his mask down to lighten the image of a cyborg.
This event, the world's largest collaborative decoration, will be held at "RED° TOKYO TOWER" until Sunday, October 27, 2024. Why don't you come and visit?
