ASUS Japan, Ltd. announces four new products from the ASUS NUC series of compact PCs: ASUS NUC 14 Pro, ASUS NUC 14 Pro+, ASUS NUC 13 Pro, and NUC 13 NUC 13 Pro" and "NUC 13 Rugged " from the "ASUS NUC" series.

ASUS NUC finally lands in Japan

NUC, or Next Unit of Computing, is the generic name for a series of small PCs that Intel has been working on. Based on a motherboard and CPU, these popular products are even smaller than notebooks and other PCs to meet any need.

However, Intel withdrew from the NUC business in October 2023. ASUS, which handles a variety of PC-related parts and devices, has taken over the business. ASUS is not only selling its existing NUC products, but is also eager to develop new products, and the four products announced this time are the first "ASUS NUC" series in Japan.

ASUS NUC 14 Pro

The ASUS NUC 14 Pro is the latest product in the ASUS NUC series, packing the highest performance in its class into a 117mm x 112mm and only 500g. It has an Intel Core Ultra processor for AI processing and up to 96GB of memory. The standard 2.5G Ethernet makes it ideal for use as a thin client terminal. The fact that no tools are required for customization is also a plus.

"ASUS NUC 14 Pro+" is a high-end NUC that supports up to Intel Core Ultra 9. The smart looking aluminum chassis is tool-less and customizable. It is the current top-of-the-line mini-PC.

ASUS NUC 13 Pro

The ASUS NUC 13 Pro is available in 13th generation Intel Core i7, i5, and i3. It supports Windows 11 Pro, Windows 11 Home, Ubuntu 20.4 LTS, and RedHat Enterprise. The small body also features two HDMI 2.1 ports, and together with Thunderbolt 4, the flexibility to create a multi-display environment is an attractive feature.

ASUS NUC 13 Rugged, as the name "Rugged" suggests, is a rugged model. It is housed in a rugged, dustproof case with a fanless design, and some kits support external operating temperatures from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius. They are ideal for systems that need to run 24/7.
