Funcom, a game development studio in Norway, announced that it will release the open-world multiplayer survival game "Dune: Awakening" on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
Distribution of a demo version featuring character creation and benchmark modes has begun.

"Dune: Awakening" Release Date Set for May 20!

"Dune: Awakening" is an open-world multiplayer survival game based on the world of the popular novel series "Dune." It had playable demos at the Level Infinite booth at Tokyo Game Show 2024 and is a highly anticipated title where players engage in combat, gathering, and interactions with NPCs and other players to survive in the harsh environment of "Arrakis."

When Saiga NAK interviewed developer Producer Nils Ryborg, they learned more about the game, and Japanese subtitle support was also announced.

The release date for "Dune: Awakening" has been set for Tuesday, May 20, 2025!

Character Creation & Benchmark Mode Now Available

A demo version of "Dune: Awakening" where you can experience character creation and benchmarking is now available on Steam!
By downloading it, you can get a skin redemption code for the exclusive item "Frameblade Knife," which can be used in-game after the full version is released.

In character creation mode, in addition to detailed appearance customization, you can also set your homeworld, caste, and mentor.
Mentors include...

Swordmaster
Bene Gesserit
Mentat
Trooper

...and you choose from these, which will affect your abilities at the start of the game.
However, it appears players will eventually be able to access all mentors, so players can likely choose based on the direction they want to take in the early part of the story without concern.

In benchmark mode, you can check hardware performance and system compatibility.
Let's try running epic game scenes on your computer, such as flying in an ornithopter and encountering a giant sandworm!
