Wolfgang Krauser Joins the Battle to Celebrate the 1st Anniversary of FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves! Major Update Also Implemented

SNK CORPORATION's fighting game FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves (hereafter, FATAL FURY: CotW) reached its 1st anniversary on Friday, April 24, 2026.
To celebrate, the new DLC character Wolfgang Krauser has been released, and initiatives such as a major game update and a new trailer are being rolled out.

A special program celebrating the 1st anniversary of FATAL FURY: CotW was broadcast, featuring the latest information, details on the major update, and a commemorative video.

Distribution of Ver.2.0.1, the largest update since launch, has begun.
The new content is wide-ranging, including a new mode and DLC characters.

Wolfgang Krauser Joins the Battle!

The Emperor of Darkness, Wolfgang Krauser, has been added as a playable character.

A special animated trailer celebrating the 1st anniversary of FATAL FURY: CotW and Krauser's arrival was also released.
The director is the world-renowned animator Masami Obari (@G1_BARI).
Set in South Town, the video depicts Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, and Joe Higashi as they challenge the Emperor, Wolfgang Krauser.

New Mode: WOLVES’ DESTINY

The first main story mode in the Fatal Fury series, WOLVES’ DESTINY, has been added.
Centering on the battle between the returned Emperor Krauser and the Emperor of Second South, Kain, this pivotal story approaches the core of Fatal Fury with high-end production featuring approximately 15,000 characters of text, full Japanese and English voice acting, and roughly 150 newly drawn 2D illustrations.

New Arrange Costumes

To celebrate the addition of WOLVES’ DESTINY, a new arrange costume for Kain has also been released.
This outfit is themed after his noble ambition and dark techniques.
A new hairstyle has also been added, and the costume supports color editing.

Ring Out Battles Return

Ring Out Battles, originally featured in Real Bout Fatal Fury, have made a comeback.
These matches use special rules and can only be played on the dedicated SECOND SOUTH CENTRAL stage.
Players can enjoy heated battles with a gimmick where a Ring Out K.O. results in an instant victory regardless of remaining health if you can knock your opponent out of the ring.

Additionally, it is now possible to use the strong versions of special moves while using the Smart Style control scheme for beginners.
This allows for new strategies and combos, further increasing the game's depth.

Design Update

With the release of Ver. 2.0.1, the UI has been completely redesigned.
The navigation has been streamlined, allowing for smooth access to various menus.
Several other functions have also been adjusted.
