SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. has decided to release FINAL FANTASY XIV: Evercold, the latest expansion for the online RPG FINAL FANTASY XIV (hereafter, FF14), in January 2027.
In addition to the Nintendo Switch 2 version of FF14 arriving in August 2026, crossover content with the anime Evangelion was also announced.

The latest expansion for the highly popular FF series online title FF14, FF14: Evercold, will be released in January 2027!
The setting is the Icebound Realm of the Fourth, one of the Reflections.
Concept art and screenshots that showcase the atmosphere of the new world are also currently available!

Please look forward to the accelerating Godless Realms Saga storyline in FF14.
Furthermore, through the new adventures depicted in this expansion, the player level cap will be raised to 110.
Game Design Overhaul! FF14 Enters a New Stage with Battle Modes and the Introduction of a Season System

The most significant change is the introduction of a season system.
The methods for acquiring various rewards and the progression paths for item levels will be drastically revamped!
Additionally, the battle job system will feature a new Evolved Mode.
Compared to the conventional Reborn Mode, this mode emphasizes the individuality of each job.
With features such as the ability to easily switch between multiple jobs during play, this title is undergoing diverse evolutions.
Expectations are high for this new gaming experience.
Crossover with Evangelion Confirmed! New Content Currently Under Development

The content is a new series of Alliance Raids where a 24-person party takes on powerful foes.

Free Trial Scope Expanded! Play the Equivalent of over 4 RPGs for Free

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 1:04 PM, the scope of the Free Trial will be expanded to coincide with the release of Patch 7.5!
With the expansion of the Free Trial, the content will include the following:
- From the base game, A Realm Reborn, up to the Shadowbringers expansion
This is a massive amount of content, covering over four RPGs (Levels 1–80)!

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of FF14 will arrive in August 2026.
Following a pre-play period to stabilize the service, the official service is scheduled to begin.
