In Kirby Air Riders Direct #2 10.23.2025, the game's director, Masahiro Sakurai, introduced the latest information on "Kirby Air Riders." Announcements included the top-down mode "Top Ride," the single-player mode "Road Trip," and newly joining riders and machines. Additionally, amiibo figures for Meta Knight, Chef Kawasaki, and King Dedede are scheduled to be released.
"Kirby Air Riders" Latest Information Revealed!
New information for the Nintendo Switch 2 software "Kirby Air Riders," scheduled for release on Thursday, November 20, 2025, was revealed in "Kirby Air Riders Direct #2 10.23.2025."
During the broadcast, Masahiro Sakurai (@Sora_Sakurai) introduced new modes, new riders, and new machines. The release schedule for the amiibo figures of Meta Knight, Chef Kawasaki, and King Dedede was also revealed.
Overhead-View Race: "Top Ride"
The top-down mode Top Ride supports up to 8 players. It is a single-screen race played while looking down at courses carried over from the previous game. In Top Ride, you can choose between two control types: Free Controls, where you move in the direction you tilt the stick, and Steer Controls, where you change direction with the stick's left and right movements. You can also use the R stick to control the camera, allowing you to fit the entire course on the screen.
Top Ride, which allows the use of all machines and riders, supports 8-player simultaneous play online! It looks fun and offers a quick, speedy play experience.
Solo Mode "Road Trip"
The solo mode Road Trip is a new addition that spans the three modes: "Air Ride," "Top Ride," and "City Trial." Several stages are connected, and you proceed by choosing and clearing challenges along the way. The challenges include Stadium, Challenge, and Event-type scenarios.
Various events can occur, such as finding shops, encountering unexpected accidents, and powering up at rest areas. It is said that the diverse characters you meet during your journey affect the branching path. The trick to not getting stuck is to prioritize getting new machines when you find them!
Newly Joining Riders and Machines
The riders and machines set to appear in this title were also introduced! The new riders are:
- Taranza, who manipulates threads like a spider
- Lololo & Lalala, troublemaking duo
- Daroach, who scratches with his claws
- Rocky, the heavyweight
- Rick, the speed hamster
- Scarfy, who dashes when angry
- Marx, the smiling, high-spec rider
- Waddle Dee, small and nimble
The new machines are:
- Transform Star, with two modes: Star and Bike
- Formula Star, with top-class maximum speed
- Hop Star, with elegant jumps
- Jet Star, which flies like a bullet
- Wheelie Scooter, a highly maneuverable mini-bike
- Bull Tank, a heavy tank that ignores damage
The riders and machines all have unique personalities. Find your own ideal combination!
Additional amiibo Release Confirmed
It was announced that amiibo figures are scheduled for release in addition to the Kirby & Warp Star and Bandana Waddle Dee & Wing Star amiibo, which are currently available for pre-order.
Kirby Air Riders Series amiibo: Meta Knight & Shadow Star and Kirby Air Riders Series amiibo: Chef Kawasaki & Hop Star began accepting pre-orders on Thursday, October 23, 2025! Pre-orders can be placed through the My Nintendo Store.

Online Trial Event Confirmed!
The online trial event Kirby Air Riders: Global Test Ride, scheduled before the release of "Kirby Air Riders," has been announced. The schedule is as follows:
- Nov. 8 at 12:00 a.m. PT until 6:00 a.m. PT
- Nov. 8 at 4:00 p.m. PT until 10:00 p.m. PT
- Nov. 9 at 7:00 a.m. PT until 1:00 p.m. PT
- Nov. 15 at 12:00 a.m PT. until 6:00 a.m. PT
- Nov. 15 at 4:00 p.m. PT until 10:00 p.m PT
- Nov. 16 at 7:00 a.m. PT until 1:00 p.m. PT
