Microsoft has announced that it has agreed to acquire ActivisionBlizzard, one of the world's top video game publishers, for 68.7 billion U.S. dollars, or approximately 7.87 trillion Japanese yen.
Activision Blizzard's titles are now available on Game Pass!
With this acquisition, Activision Blizzard will become part of Microsoft.
Microsoft has announced that it will acquire Activision Blizzard in its entirety and will acquire Activision Publishing, Blizzard Entertainment, Beenox, Demonware, Digital Legends, High Moon Studios, Infinity Ward, King, Major League Gaming, Radical Entertainment, and Raven Software. The company plans to offer as many of its games and brands as possible through the " Xbox Game Pass " and " PC Game Pass.
Microsoft strengthens its presence in the gaming industry through acquisitions
Microsoft recently acquired ZeniMax Media for US$7.5 billion in September 2020.
ZeniMax Media is also known as one of the world's largest game companies, and its subsidiaries include Bethesda Softworks, known for "The Elder Scrolls" and "Fallout," and Microsoft Computer Entertainment Inc. Tango Gameworks, known for "Psycho Break," and id Software, known for "Wolfenstein" and "Doom.
With this acquisition, Microsoft now has two of the world's top game publishers under its umbrella.
