Nintendo Co., Ltd. announced the "Nintendo Switch 2," the successor model to the Nintendo Switch, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, Japan time.

Nintendo Co., Ltd. has officially announced the "Nintendo Switch 2," the successor model to the Nintendo Switch, which had been previously teased.
The preview video suggests an increase in the size of the LCD screen and Joy-Con controllers (official name unknown) compared to the original Nintendo Switch.
The design has also been updated, with a USB Type-C port on the top of the console.

Hands-on Events to Be Held in 15 Cities Worldwide
"Nintendo Switch 2" hands-on events are scheduled to be held in 15 cities worldwide.
In Japan, they will take place on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Makuhari Messe Halls 9, 10, and 11.
The regions where the hands-on events will be held are as follows:

- Paris
- Los Angeles
- London
- Berlin
- Dallas
- Milan
- Toronto
- Tokyo
- Amsterdam
- Madrid
- Melbourne
- Seoul
- Hong Kong
- Taipei
Registration for the hands-on event in Japan is already open on the "Nintendo Switch 2 Hands-on Event TOKYO" special page.
Registration closes at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 20, 2025, and winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 19.
Since this will be a large-scale hands-on event, renting out three halls at Makuhari Messe for two days, it seems likely that many people will be selected, but fierce competition is expected.
