Change Button Assignments to a Position that is Easier for You
The new "Change Button Assignments" function allows you to change the button assignments for your own convenience.
To use the "Change Button Assignments" feature, the system version of the device must be 10.0.0 or higher, so please check the version of your device first and update it if it is lower than 10.0.0.
The types of controllers that can be changed are "Joy-Con (L)", "Joy-Con (R)", "Nintendo Switch Pro Controller" and "Nintendo Switch Lite", which is a controller integrated with the console. "Nintendo Switch Lite". Please note that other controllers are not supported!
The procedure to change is as follows. The upper image is the Joy-Con and the lower image is the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller setting screen.
From the HOME menu, select "Settings" → "Controllers and Sensors" → "Change Button Assignments".
Select the controller you wish to change and select "Change"
Follow the on-screen instructions to make changes, then select "Done"
When you see the message "Button assignments" have been changed. The change is complete when you see the message "Button assignments" have been changed.
It is surprisingly easy to set up.
The controller that has "changed button assignments" will have a wrench symbol on the icon in the lower left corner of the screen. This will prevent you from being in a hurry when you start playing a game and think, "The button assignments are different from the normal ones! You can save up to fivefavorite button assignments for each controller type. It is nice not to have to re-set them each time.
