Osaka Electro-Communication University is home to many students striving toward becoming next-generation creators through game development.
During Tokyo Game Show 2024 and 2025, the Saiga NAK editorial team interviewed professors and students and was blown away by their passion for game development and the exceptional quality of their work.
Now, Osaka Electro-Communication University has decided to implement hands-on practical education in partnership with Capcom for students in the Department of Digital Games and Department of Games and Media within the Faculty of Information Science and Arts, as well as the Digital Games Course in the Graduate School of Information Science and Arts!
This initiative offers students a valuable opportunity to acquire advanced practical skills and development workflows while receiving direct advice from industry-leading professional creators.

In this program, students will take on the challenge of developing new games using Capcom's proprietary game development engine, RE ENGINE.
Within a focused period of approximately two weeks, they will experience the full end-to-end development cycle—from concept planning and implementation to receiving direct feedback from professionals.
Alumnus Masaru Ijuin was also involved in developing RE ENGINE, and the Open Campus event on August 22, 2026 will host a special session featuring faculty members formerly with Capcom.

Osaka Electro-Communication University is scheduled to exhibit at the Game Academy Area at Tokyo Game Show 2026.
We look forward to seeing more practical human resource development initiatives supporting the future of the gaming industry!
