The Pokémon Company has announced that the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon Champions, a game specializing in Pokémon battles, will be released on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
It was also revealed that Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar, and Mega Feraligatr—the final evolutions of the starter Pokémon appearing in Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A—will be featured in the game, and their abilities were announced at the same time.
Pokémon Champions Nintendo Switch Version to Be Released on April 8!
Pokémon Champions is a battle-focused game that is free-to-play.
In the Pokémon Presents | 2.27.2026, the release window for the Nintendo Switch version was announced as April 2026. Still, it has now been confirmed for release on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
Furthermore, the iOS and Android versions are scheduled to launch in Summer 2026.
Abilities of Starter Pokémon from Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A Revealed!
It was also announced that Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar, and Mega Feraligatr, the final evolutions of the starter Pokémon from the Nintendo Switch title Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A, will appear in Pokémon Champions.
Their abilities were also unveiled alongside the announcement.
Mega Meganium: Mega Sol
When a Pokémon with this ability uses a move, the weather changes to the Sunny Day state.
Mega Emboar: Mold Breaker
This allows the Pokémon to use moves regardless of the opponent's ability.
Mega Feraligatr: Dragonize
Normal-type moves become Dragon-type.
The power of these moves is also increased by 1.2 times.
