The Pokémon Company has announced that a free update for the Nintendo Switch 2 town-building game, Pokémon Pokopia, will be released on August 5, 2026 (Wed). Details on the newly added move, Dive, and information on the in-game event, Fetching Scales for Feebas, have been revealed.
Pokémon Pokopia Free Update Arriving August 5! Plus Details on the Summer Event, Fetching Scales for Feebas
The free Pokémon Pokopia update, Ver. 2.0.0, for Nintendo Switch 2 software officially launches on August 5, 2026 (Wed)! This update adds the new move, Dive.
In addition, a limited-time in-game event, Fetching Scales for Feebas, will begin on August 13, 2026 (Thu). This is your chance to befriend Feebas and Milotic!
Learn the New Move, Dive! Swim Freely Even Underwater
What exactly is the move, Dive, being added in the free update, Ver. 2.0.0?
How to Learn the Move, Dive
Dive allows you to swim freely underwater. To learn Dive, you must fulfill the following two conditions:
- Clear the request, Raise the environment level!, in Bleak Beach
- Possess the jump ability and learn the move, Surf
Once you meet the conditions, Manaphy will teach you Dive. Note that you can befriend Manaphy in the paid add-on content, Bubbly Basin, which releases on August 5, 2026 (Wed), alongside the free update.
Build Towns Underwater with Dive! Ride Minecarts Underwater
Once you learn Dive, you can enjoy swimming in the ocean with Water-type Pokémon, create relaxing spots or fields underwater, and vastly expand your daily life options!
Summer Event, Fetching Scales for Feebas, Starts August 13! Befriend Feebas and Milotic
The Fish Pokémon Feebas is coming to your town! Collect the event-limited special item, Prism Scale, and exchange it for items such as swimming-themed furniture. By creating habitats using those items, you can become friends with Feebas and Milotic!
