Street Fighter 6 Additional Character Ed Joins the Roster on February 27! Gameplay Trailer Released

Capcom Co., Ltd. released the gameplay trailer for Ed, the third Year 1 additional character for Street Fighter 6.
The additional character Ed will be released starting from Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

Gameplay Trailer Released for Ed, the Third Year 1 Additional Character

The gameplay trailer for Ed, whose participation as the third Year 1 additional character was previously announced, has been released.

A Psycho Power-wielding youth aged up
rapidly by Shadaloo's experimentation,
on a journey and a mission to free other
subjects. He gets his short temper and
foul mouth from Balrog, his former mentor.

Ed (EN voice: Edward Bosso, JP voice: Hiroyuki Yoshino), who made his first appearance in the previous entry Street Fighter V, was captured by S.I.N. as research material for a spare body for M. Bison, the boss character who represented the series in the past.
After Seth was defeated, Ed was rescued from the collapsing laboratory by Balrog. Having regained his sense of self, Ed formed Neo Shadaloo with other test subjects and tries to help others in the same circumstances.
In Street Fighter 6, he senses the unsettling movements of the remnants of Shadaloo and learns that they need Ed's abilities to achieve their twisted ambitions.

The move inputs for Ed have been simplified since the previous entry, and moves can be performed with Modern Controls.
In this title, the simplified move inputs are incorporated into Modern Controls as they are, and for Classic Controls, adjustments have been made so that players can enjoy playing Ed with command inputs.

He fights with a fast battle style that infuses Psycho Power, mastery, boxing, and technique into his punches. The move Psycho Flicker that appeared in the previous entry has become Flicker Combination, which unleashes a 3-hit combo, and Psycho Knuckle can be activated by holding down the heavy punch button.

The Level 1 Super Art Psycho Storm strikes the opponent with a high-speed barrage of Flicker Jabs, and the Level 2 Super Art Psycho Cannon fires a multi-hitting sphere of Psycho Power, creating opportunities for combos and setups.
Additionally, with the Level 3 Super Art Psycho Chamber, he can restrain the opponent's limbs with Psycho Power and unleash a powerful series of strikes.

Learn Ed's Psycho Power in World Tour!

In World Tour, just like with other characters, you can deepen your bond with Ed and learn various moves that utilize Psycho Power.
Take the moves you have learned into Avatar Battles in the Battle Hub and unleash new combos on rivals around the world.

About Ed's Design – Director Nakayama

”Ed is a high-speed boxer. We designed his lower half so that you can clearly see his nimble footwork and added some volume to his upper body to make his punches look impactful,” according to Game Director Takayuki Nakayama. “ We also hope you take notice of the emblem on his chest and the design on his back. His attack animations have also changed significantly from Street Fighter V. To respect his background as a traditional boxer, all his attacks are now punches (except for his Level 2 Super Art). His kick buttons have been designated to various flicker attacks.”

New Stage Ruined Lab Appears

Along with the arrival of Ed, the new stage Ruined Lab also appears.
In the laboratory that has fallen into ruin following the aftermath of Shadaloo's collapse, several bodies of test subjects are placed.
If you purchase the Year 1 Ultimate Pass, the new stage Ruined Lab will be added automatically after the update, so let's control Ed in the new stage!

Ed Joins the Battle Starting Tuesday, February 27!

The third Street Fighter 6 Year 1 additional character Ed will be released on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 5:00 PM.
He will be released for purchasers of the Year 1 Character Pass, Year 1 Ultimate Pass, Deluxe Edition, and Ultimate Edition. At the same time, Ed's Outfit 2, which pays homage to his story costume from Street Fighter V, will also be available for purchase.
Outfit 2 can also be obtained by clearing certain conditions in World Tour.

Also, to celebrate the arrival of Ed, the Get Ready for Ed! Fighting Pass is currently available.
In the Get Ready for Ed! Fighting Pass, you can get Ed's stamps, photo frames, and avatar gear.
