Nintendo has announced that it will hold a collaboration event with the Nintendo Switch 2 software Yoshi and the Mysterious Book in the MAXIMUS CUP event for the Nintendo Switch Online exclusive software Tetris 99.
It will be held from Friday, May 29, 2026, at 12:00 AM PT to Tuesday, June 2 at 11:59 PM PT.
The 54th MAXIMUS CUP Yoshi and the Mysterious Book Edition Will Be Held!
For the 54th installment of the regular event MAXIMUS CUP for the Nintendo Switch Online exclusive software Tetris 99, a collaboration event with the Nintendo Switch 2 software Yoshi and the Mysterious Book will be held.

The event period is from Friday, May 29, 2026, at 12:00 AM PT to Tuesday, June 2 at 11:59 PM PT.
During the period, you can earn event points based on your ranking in Tetris 99 mode. Once you earn a total of 100 points, you can obtain the Event Special Theme of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. Points are awarded as follows:
- 1st place: 100 points
- 2nd place: 70 points
- 3rd place: 50 points
- 4th-10th place: 40 points
- 11th-30th place: 30 points
- 31st-50th place: 20 points
- 51st-90th place: 10 points
- 91st-99th place: 1 point
The Nintendo Switch 2 software Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is an action game where Yoshi explores inside a picture book to investigate living creatures.
Inside the picture book, many slightly unusual and mysterious creatures appear.
By making use of Yoshi's various actions, such as eating, stomping, and sometimes carrying them on his back, you will discover the characteristics of the creatures.
As you progress through the investigation, the creatures you can investigate will increase, including creatures that inhabit mountains and seas.
