Riot Games LLC announced the introduction of Veto, the new Sentinel agent, to the tactical FPS VALORANT on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Japan Time.
What Is the New Agent "Veto," Who Wields the Power of Uncontrollable DNA Mutation?
Veto, a combat-oriented elite agent from Senegal, gained his power through an uncontrollable DNA mutation. According to game designer Nicholas Smith, Veto is designed to focus on countering utility and to reliably defend and manage sites, allowing him to fight continuously.
His interesting abilities include:
- An ability that bounces off players while Interceptor is active, destroying enemy utility
- A teleport ability that allows for position changes and the regrouping of allies in response to changing battlefield conditions
- Capacity for aggressive attacks despite his role as a defense-focused Sentinel
Veto is intended to counter this kind of play in the current meta, where sites tend to become zones where utility is frequently used, regardless of player skill. If enemies detect he is using his Ultimate, they will be forced into a re-evaluation of strategy and a more cautious response.
VALORANT Officail WebsiteEmpowered by an unstoppable DNA mutation, Senegalese enforcer Veto defies the rules of engagement by nullifying his opponent's powers and technology. On Veto's battlefield, gunplay is your only guarantee.
It seems that skills focused on landing shots in face-to-face engagements without relying on utility will also be required. We encourage players to try him out to see how the battlefield will change with the introduction of Veto.
