Sharp Corporation has started pre-registration (phase 2) for the "VR tactile controller" that allows users to touch objects in VR. Pre-registration to receive the latest information on development and hands-on events is open from Monday, August 4, 2025 to Friday, August 29, 2025.
Sharp has started pre-registration (phase 2) for the "VR Tactile Controller".

Sharp's "VR tactile controller" has a tactile element with multi-segmentation drive installed in the fingertip of the controller, which generates various vibration patterns to express the touch of objects in the VR space. The controller not only lets you know when you touch an object, but also lets you feel its texture, such as "smooth" or "rough". The device also has a stick and buttons, so it can be used as a standard controller.
Currently, development for commercialization is underway as one of the themes of Sharp's internal new business creation program, "SHARP 01 PROGRAM". At this stage of development, the tentative target price for the "VR tactile controller" is 100,000 yen (including tax).
The pre-registration period for the second phase is from Monday, August 4, 2025 to Friday, August 29, 2025. This pre-registration is not an advance reservation for product sales, but for receiving the latest information on development and hands-on events. For details, please visit the "VR Tactile Controller" special site.
VR触覚コントローラーの事前登録が一部の方々に好評だったので、第2期募集を行います。登録といっても、いまのところ開発情報やデモ体験会など最新情報を先行配信するだけですので、クラファンにようなものではありません。ご了承ください。 https://t.co/K6NHMCHnAV
