When it comes to gaming devices, "glowing" is the name of the game.
Many people are attracted by the colorful RGB lighting and are interested in gaming devices even if they are not gamers.
This time, we will review the "ROG Rapture GT-AC2900" from ASUS.
This is a Wi-Fi router with ASUS' own RGB lighting function, "Aura RGB".
2-way design that can be used either standing or hanging
This is the GT-AC2900 before it is energized, and although it is laid flat, it can be placed vertically or hung on a wall by attaching a stand to the back or bottom of the unit.
There are three antennas. The recommended usage environment is a house up to three stories high or an apartment up to four bedrooms.
It also supports the "AiMesh" feature, which can be used in conjunction with other ASUS Wi-Fi routers for even larger environments.
There are five buttons on the side panel. From the top left, they are "WPS", "WiFi", "RESET", "LED" and "BOOST".
The "BOOST" button, which is illuminated with the ROG icon when energized, activates the 3-stage game acceleration function. When activated, it can improve ping by up to 75%.
LAN ports are located on the rear. There are four Gigabit-capable LAN ports and a WAN port.
The leftmost LAN port is the gaming LAN port. By connecting to this port, the packets will be processed as the highest priority packets, which will allow you to enjoy stress-free gaming with reduced latency.
Compared to the ROG Rapture GT-AX11000, a Wi-Fi router also equipped with Aura RGB, the ROG Rapture GT -AX11000 is more compact.
However, both routers cover three floors or four bedrooms, making them powerful Wi-Fi routers in spite of their compact size.
Vivid lighting with 16.8 million colors!
The "Aura RGB" features ROG icons as well as lighting that runs diagonally across the unit.
There are a total of 11 lighting patterns.
It also has a function that notifies the user of specific events specified at the user's discretion with light emission patterns. Communication status can be monitored by light.
It is so cool that it is hard to believe it is a Wi-Fi router.
The moment it was energized and started lighting up, even the Saiga NAK editorial office was amazed.
It's a great presentation for gaming device lovers.
We also measured the Wi-Fi speed.
GT-AC2900 Wi-Fi communication speed | |
2.4GHz band | 58 Mbps (downlink) / 52 Mbps (uplink) |
---|---|
5GHz band | 460 Mbps (downlink) / 390 Mbps (uplink) |
It is difficult to make a general statement because it depends on the original connection, but these are the results.
Although this is not a high-end model, the speed is sufficient for game play.
This will allow you to play online games comfortably.
Let's create a space with Aura RGB light!
What do you think?
Wi-Fi routers tend to be plain and unrefined, but with the ROG Rapture GT-AC2900, you can create a vivid atmosphere in your room at once.
The performance is also sufficient, so those who are particular about their gaming devices should definitely consider it!
(Apology: "ROG Rapture" was partially spelled "ROG Raptune" at the time of publication.)
