MATCH 1: (AWAY) DetonatioN FocusMe vs Nagoya NTPOJA (HOME)

Pioneer Match: Machabo (Akuma) (Classic) vs Mocchi (Akuma) (Classic)

The Pioneer Match was a battle between rivals who had once trained hard together. Mocchi was making his first appearance in the SF League, but Machabo attacked fiercely, giving him a sort of league baptism. Machabo continued to apply pressure, giving Mocchi no chance to settle down, completely grasping the flow of the battle and securing a dominant 2-0 straight victory.

Mid-Match: Nauman (Ken) (Classic) vs Otani (Ken) (Classic)

In the early stages of the Mid-Match, Otani attacked forcefully, focusing on Drive Impact to overwhelm Nauman and prevent any counterattacks. However, Nauman managed to recover after the interval, starting his counterattack, taking BATTLE 2 and forcing a BATTLE 3. The final BATTLE was a close contest that either player could have won, but Nauman ultimately timed his throw perfectly against Otani's mid-level attack, which was aiming for a Double Up, and won the Ken mirror match.

General Match: John Takeuchi (Rashid) (Classic) vs KEI.B (M. Bison) (Classic)

The General Match pitted John Takeuchi's Rashid against KEI.B's M. Bison—a character said to be advantageous in this matchup. KEI.B used the long reach of his normal attacks and high firepower as his weapons to press the advantage, succeeding in taking the first lead. However, John Takeuchi managed to create a chance from Rashid's specialty, corner offense, and successfully took back a BATTLE. In the final BATTLE, which was tied 2-2, John Takeuchi initiated the match with Rashid's Super Art Lv.2, "Ysaar," but KEI.B brilliantly withstood it. His unwavering resolve, which pushed him to tell himself, "If I lose here, it's over; I'm disqualified as a leader," secured a critical win that saved the team.

Overtime Match: Machabo (Akuma) (Classic) vs KEI.B (M. Bison) (Classic)

The Overtime Match was a battle between Machabo, fresh off a brilliant Pioneer Match victory, and KEI.B, the driving force who had tenaciously managed to bring the match to overtime. KEI.B was burning with motivation for a comeback victory, but the battle was purely defensive against Machabo's offense. In ROUND 2, Machabo showed a performance true to his nickname, Mr. Optimal, by using Akuma's Super Art Lv.3, "Sip of Calamity," into a "Demon Gou Zanku" to burnout the opponent and follow up with a Drive Impact for a stun, securing the team's first win of the season.

Post-Match Interview with Machabo

(Translated from Japanese)

Q1: First, how do you reflect on the Pioneer Match?

Machabo: I was a little worried about the match against the same character, but I think I was able to win successfully by utilizing the advice from my teammates.

PR TIMES

Q2: How was the decision made for you to play in the Overtime Match?

Machabo: I decided to play after getting the opinion from my teammates that "Machabo would be good." Honestly, I was so focused on cheering for my teammates that the Overtime Match completely slipped my mind, but I'm glad we were able to win safely.

PR TIMES

Q3: Was there anything you consciously focused on for the Overtime Match (first to 1 BATTLE)?

Machabo: I focused on having confidence, not being afraid, and being unconcerned.

PR TIMES

Q4: Finally, what are your aspirations for the next section?

Machabo: I was very happy that both I and the team were able to win the opening match while playing on the Away side. With this momentum, we will aim for victory in the next section and focus on practicing as a united team.

MATCH 2: (AWAY) Good 8 Squad vs Shinobism Gaming (HOME)

Pioneer Match: YHC-Mochi (Dhalsim) (Classic) vs Momochi (Ed) (Classic)

In the Pioneer Match, YHC-Mochi gained the advantage by successfully baiting Momochi's Anti-Air attack with a Yoga Teleport. Momochi also created many opportunities by slipping through Dhalsim's long-reaching attacks but was unable to break down YHC-Mochi. In the final phase of BATTLE 2, Momochi attempted to finish the match with a Super Art Combo Attack, but YHC-Mochi showed a brilliant response, landed a counterattack, and secured the victory.

Mid-Match: Gachikun (Rashid) (Classic) vs Fujimura (Akuma) (Classic)

From BATTLE 1 of the Mid-Match, Gachikun successfully seized the initiative by starting with Rashid's Super Art Lv.2, "Ysaar." However, Fujimura showed his determination not to be easily defeated and successfully took back a BATTLE with a Combo Attack using Super Art Lv.3, "Sip of Calamity," and other moves. The Mid-Match continued with back-and-forth action, going to a full set and full round. In the end, Gachikun landed a Lethal Combo—stealing a page from Fujimura's own book—and secured a major victory, avenging last season's bitter experience.

General Match: Kawano (Akuma) (Classic) vs Johnny (Marisa) (Classic)

In the General Match, Kawano showed brilliant movement from the start, avoiding Marisa's attacks. He also unleashed a series of signature super plays, such as a Perfect Parry at critical moments and a super-reaction counter to Marisa's Phalanx with Akuma's Gou Kakeruryuken. He concluded the match by connecting Akuma's Super Art Lv.2, "Empyrean's End," against the opponent's Drive Rush. Kawano gave Johnny absolutely no quarter, achieving a flawless 3-0 victory and delivering a spectacular performance to celebrate the team's opening match win.

Post-Match Interview with Gachikun

(Translated from Japanese)

Q1: How do you reflect on your own match?

Gachikun: The result was a 2-1 victory, but in terms of content, I felt I gave the opponent many opportunities for a comeback due to nervousness in the first match. I want to use this self-reflection to improve in the next match.

PR TIMES

Q2: Please tell us how the lineup for this section was decided.

Gachikun: Until yesterday, YHC-Mochi was scheduled to play the General Match. However, this morning, we changed the lineup to guard against Yamaguchi's Dee Jay. I entrusted Kawano with the General Match because he seemed confident in his proficiency in the Ed and Akuma matchups.

PR TIMES

Q3: Last season must have been a bitter experience; what is your motivation for this year?

Gachikun: Honestly, Street Fighter 6 had just been released last year, and I couldn't get a good start because my main character wasn't decided. We are confident in our strength now that the game's strategies have been fully developed. Since we've been getting results in recent tournaments this year, all of our members are approaching the SF League with confidence.

PR TIMES

Q4: Finally, what are your aspirations for the next section?

Gachikun: The season has just begun, so I can't say for sure yet, but I think our next match against Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto will be a major test, and I want to show our opponent what a threat we are.

MATCH 3: (AWAY) Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto vs FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN (HOME)

Vanguard Battle: Higuchi (Guile) (Classic) vs Sasamo (Ed) (Classic)

In the Vanguard Battle, Higuchi showed excellent range control, using back-and-forth maneuvering to control range and pressure his opponent, and also demonstrated exceptional SA gauge management to take the first BATTLE.
However, Sasamo was not to be outdone, equalizing the score with Ed's "Psycho Cannon" leading into a "Combo Attack," to force a 1-1 full set.
Sasamo slipped past Guile's attacks and created multiple chances but failed to land the final blow, allowing Higuchi to secure the crucial win.

Middle Battle: Umehara (Akuma) (Classic) vs Yanai (M. Bison) (Classic)

In the Middle Battle, Umehara, who finally returned to the SF League stage, skillfully controlled the match using Akuma's "Gou Hadoken" and "Zanku Hadoken" to corner Yanai's M. Bison and take the first BATTLE.
In the second BATTLE, Yanai launched a counterattack, utilizing his anti-air attacks and the "Overdrive Psycho Crusher Attack," combined with M. Bison's high offensive power, to take the second BATTLE.
In the final ROUND of the third BATTLE, Umehara, with low health and cornered, achieved a dramatic come-from-behind victory with Akuma's Critical Art "Shun Goku Satsu" at the critical moment, generating the biggest excitement of the day.

General Battle: Fuudo (Ed) (Classic) vs Kakeru (Akuma) (Classic)

In the General Battle, Kakeru showed brilliant positioning, forcing Fuudo onto the defensive. Kakeru slipped past Ed's pokes and quickly took two consecutive BATTLEs.
Cornered, Fuudo managed to change the momentum after the break, taking two BATTLEs in a row to force a full set.
However, despite the incredible persistence shown by Fuudo, Kakeru secured the finish with a throw following a confident forward walk, earning his team the match win in their first appearance as a new team.

Overtime Battle: Fuudo (Ed) (Classic) vs Kakeru (Akuma) (Classic)

The Overtime Battle featured the same matchup as the General Battle.
Fuudo showed various responses to Akuma's "Demon Raid," immediately applying the lessons learned from the General Battle. He successfully took the lead by continuously adjusting his positioning.
Fuudo, who remained calm and observed the situation until the very end, claimed victory, avenging his loss in the General Battle and securing the match win for his team.

Post-Match Interview with Fuudo

(Translated from Japanese)

Q1: In the General Battle, you staged a comeback starting after the break—did you receive any advice from your teammates?

Fuudo: I had prepared quite a bit for the Akuma matchup, so there was no prior advice.
I reorganized my strategy for the next BATTLE by focusing on the fact that I was defeated in the corner after being hit by "Demon Blade Kick" many times during the match.
I also received advice like, "You might be using with less variations," and made adjustments during the match.
I received a lot of advice this time from Umehara, the Akuma player, regarding the differences between practice and an actual match, and the mistakes that tend to occur.

PR TIMES

Q2: What is the atmosphere like during your team's regular practice?

Fuudo: Instead of giving each other advice, we usually try to pose questions to each other.
For example, I got a question from Higuchi like, "Why don't you do Psycho Judo on your opponent's wakeup?"
During a match, if I listen to everyone's advice, my focus becomes scattered, so I try to concentrate on advice that offers a clear direction.
Since we are all strong team members, there's a mutual trust that sharing opinions will lead to improvement, so I think it's a team where we can easily exchange ideas every day.

PR TIMES

Q3: How was the decision made for you to play in the Overtime Battle?

Fuudo: Umehara was the first to emphatically say, "Fuudo is the right choice, right?"
Also, although I lost the General Battle, I felt my condition was improving, so I decided to play.
Furthermore, even if someone else had played, it would have been hard to predict the outcome against Kakeru, who was the likely choice for the Overtime Battle, so I ended up playing because I calculated at least a 50% chance of winning.

PR TIMES

Q4: Finally, please share your thoughts on the next section.

Fuudo: Our team is the away side for two sections consecutively, and I was concerned that if we failed to earn any points, our morale would drop.
Since we won today and earned 25 points, if we can earn points in the next section's match against "Good 8 Squad," we will be able to challenge for the top ranks, so I intend to firmly earn points.
