Adobe Stock, Adobe 's stock photo service, sells more than 320 million materials to designers, businesses, and educational institutions, including videos, illustrations, vectors, 3D, templates, and more.
The company has announced that it has established new guidelines for content created using image-generating AI in order to expand the possibilities for enhancing users' creative projects.
Since questions have been raised about the proper use of image-generating AI since its early days, the company has established and enforced a new submission policy that can ensure that AI technology is used responsibly by both providers and users who submit content.
Policies Established for Image Generation AI
Image Generation AI is a technology that uses machine learning to help you come up with ideas faster by using sketches and gestures to expand your imagery.
While Adobe Stock claims that the use of AI tools and related technologies can increase the potential for diversifying your portfolio of work, expanding your creativity, and increasing your income accordingly, future submissions of work created with image-generated AI will be subject to Adobe'sguidelines for AI-generated content (hereafter referred to as the "Image Generated AI Policy").
Adobe 's new Image Generation AI Policy puts the power of the tool in the hands of the artist and treats AI-generated content like any other content, allowing providers to earn royalties as usual in accordance with Adobe's royalty guidelines. Adobe Creative Cloud is a new and improved version of Adobe Creative Cloud.
AI-generated content will be treated like any other content, the company announced.
Adobe Stock will apply the same policies to new assets, such as AI-generated content, as it does to other content submitted to meet the needs of its users, with the same review of the work.
Permission will still be required to include identifiable people or intellectual property in the information, and the standard IP disclaimer will also apply in the unlikely event of a claim on the asset.
And Adobe's image-generating AI policy states that it will prohibit the posting of content created from third-party content without permission.
From now on, if the content you post is generated by AI, you must voluntarily indicate so, and AI-generated content will be provided under the same licensing terms as other content.
If image-generated AI is used appropriately and clearly stated, users of the asset will be able to use it with a clear understanding of its source, and Adobe plans to add features to increase transparency for this type of content in the future.
