Pre-orders for Open World Survival "Dune: Awakening" Begin on Steam! Recommended Specs Also Revealed

Norwegian game development studio Funcom announced that pre-orders for the multiplayer survival game "Dune: Awakening" have begun on Steam as of Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Along with the start of pre-orders, information on the business model, special editions, and recommended specs has been revealed.

Norwegian online game company Funcom, known for "Conan Exiles" and other titles, announced that pre-orders for the multiplayer survival game "Dune: Awakening," scheduled for release on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, have begun on Steam as of Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
This title is a highly anticipated work that has generated significant buzz even before its release, inspired by Frank Herbert's sci-fi novel series and the movie that won the most Academy Awards (6 categories) at the 94th Academy Awards.

On Steam, in addition to the Standard Edition, a total of three editions are available for pre-order: the Deluxe Edition and the Ultimate Edition, both offering 5 days of early access and some unique items.
The sales prices are 4,990 yen (tax included) for the Standard Edition, 7,090 yen (tax included) for the Deluxe Edition, and 9,290 yen (tax included) for the Ultimate Edition.
The Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition also include a Season Pass as a bonus, which provides access to 4 DLCs over time, with the first DLC available at launch.
The Deluxe Edition also includes the tough armor of the Sardaukar, an elite army that tracks players in the game.

Furthermore, the Ultimate Edition also includes the Stillsuit, the iconic suit worn by Paul Atreides (protagonist of the 2021 movie) that converts moisture into drinking water, a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, and the Caladan Palace Building Set, which includes building pieces, placeables, and decorations.

Behind the Scenes of Soundtrack Production

The Ultimate Edition includes a 90-minute digital soundtrack.
And to commemorate the start of pre-orders, a video showcasing the behind-the-scenes production of music created by Funcom has been released on YouTube.
The video, produced by Funcom, shows acclaimed composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen, who also joined the team for "Conan Exiles" and has won numerous awards for film music production, bringing the album to life with a live orchestra at the renowned AIR Lyndhurst Studios in London.

As a pre-order bonus, if you pre-order any edition, including the Standard Edition, you will receive a universal color pattern applicable to vehicles, weapons, and armor, and the "Muad'Dib's Terrarium," a base decoration housing "Muad'Dib," a desert mouse.

Video Explaining Post-Release Plans Released!

A video has been released featuring the game's Creative Director, Joel Bylos, explaining the game's business model and post-launch plans.
Details of the release on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, are as follows:

• Full version release, not Early Access.
• It is not a subscription system.
• The game will continue to be expanded through free content and feature updates.
• Adopts a traditional business model where DLC can be purchased optionally.

Funcom plans to provide long-term operational support, like with "Anarchy Online" and "Conan Exiles," and expand with free updates after release.
