"Fatal Fury: CotW" New Character "Duck King" Joins the Fight on August 27! One of the series' most distinctive characters is finally back!

" Duck King," the second DLC character in Season Pass 3 for SNK Corporation's fighting game " Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves " (hereinafter "Fatal Fury: CotW") , will join the roster on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
Ahead of the release, a character trailer has been unveiled.

The "Dancing Fighter" Duck King joins the fray on August 27! He returns as a playable character for the first time in 21 years.

Duck King is a character who has appeared since the very first game in the Fatal Fury series.
His unique style, which fuses dance and martial arts, has left such a strong impression on players that SNK officially describes him as “ one of the series’ most distinctive characters.”

Even in *Fatal Fury: CotW*, he continued to make his presence felt, appearing as an NPC in the game as a friend of Salvatore Ganacci.

However, he is also an unfortunate character whose appearances as a playable character came to an end after his inclusion in "THE KING OF FIGHTERS XI."
Now, Duck King is returning as a playable character for the first time in 21 years.
For fans, this is a long-awaited comeback that’s enough to make them want to dance with joy.

The Dance King who reigns over South Town.
Although he was defeated by Terry in his childhood, the two have since maintained a relationship that is both rivalry and friendship.
He deeply loves Pao Pao Cafe, one of the series’ iconic locations, where he frequently drops by to fight, dance, drink, and enjoy himself.
His high-energy performances, which can turn any place into a dance floor, are still going strong.
It seems his pet chick, P-chan, has been replaced several times.
In recent years, he has also been spotted dancing alongside DJ Ganacchi.

The character trailer has also been released!

The character trailer is available in both Japanese and English on SNK’s official YouTube channel.
The Japanese voice cast features Anri Katsu ( @bigfatduck4 ), while the English voice cast features Cedric Williams.

The trailer showcases high-energy dance action that truly lives up to his nickname, “Dance King.”
Duck King’s signature super moves, “Break Spiral” and “ You are Angel Baby! ”, are also back in full force.

Furthermore, the background music features an arrangement of “Duck Dub Dub (Duck, You Too?),” one of Duck King’s theme songs—a nice touch for longtime Fatal Fury fans.

Aside from Terry, there was another man Duck simply had to take revenge on.
That man was the Emperor, Wolfgang Krauser—the opponent who had once defeated him so thoroughly that he couldn’t put up a fight.
He had longed for a rematch, but upon hearing that Krauser had been defeated by Terry and taken his own life, that wish seemed destined to remain unfulfilled forever.
However, Krauser—who was supposed to be dead—reappears in South Town.
Now, Duck’s new quest for revenge begins.

"ARCADE MODE"

Duck is approached by his longtime friend Richard Meyer, the owner of Pao Pao Cafe, who tells him that the cafe is in danger of being taken over.
To protect his friend and the place he loves, Duck resolves to enter the KOF tournament in hopes of winning a large prize.
Terry, his longtime rival, is also competing in the KOF...

In EOST MODE, I’m particularly intrigued by how the story faithfully reflects the scene from *Fatal Fury 2* where Duck was defeated by Krauser.
In ARCADE MODE, it’s also interesting to see a plotline that’s so typical of Duck King—entering the KOF to protect his beloved Pao Pao Cafe.
