iU eSports Co., Ltd. has started crowdfunding with the goal of making the world's holy ground for eSports at Sumida City's first university, Professional University of Information and Management for Innovation (hereinafter referred to as iU).
Through the development of a curriculum where students can learn about eSports and the hosting of events, the project aims for the popularization of eSports and regional contribution.
Making iU a Global eSports Mecca
PR TIMESiU eSports Co., Ltd., founded by current students, alumni, and professors of iU, has started a project on the crowdfunding service CAMPFIRE.
In the "Making iU a global holy ground for eSports and achieving excellence in both literary and military arts through eSports" project, aiming for the realization of the iU eSports Project, the following measures have been raised:
- Construction of a practical curriculum to learn about eSports
- Granting of course credits for eSports activities
- Maintenance of on-campus facilities for eSports activities
- Inauguration of a school community centered on eSports
- Implementation of various eSports-related events
Additionally, an image video to convey the fun of the iU eSports Room is scheduled to be released around late July 2024.
As the main star, eSports caster Yue (@64xk) from ASH WINDER CULTURE is participating.
Project returns also include credit listings.
The "Making iU a global holy ground for eSports and achieving excellence in both literary and military arts through eSports" project runs from Wednesday, May 15, 2024, to July 31 at 11:59 PM with a target amount of 2 million yen.
The collected support funds will be used for equipment costs, labor costs, PR/advertising costs, return procurement costs, and more.
