I-O DATA, a comprehensive manufacturer of smartphones, TVs, and PC peripherals headquartered in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, announced the establishment of the gaming community base "WACHA-WACHA. WACHA-WACHA will provide gaming devices such as GigaCrysta, the company's gaming monitor brand, while working to create a space for gamers in the Hokuriku area to enjoy themselves.
In establishing WACHA-WACHA, interviews with the gaming community and several experimental events were held. The gaming community base was born, incorporating the voices of Hokuriku gamers in order to further promote gaming as a gaming device manufacturer in Japan.
I-O Data has also released a video interview with Shiroma and Inu Chiyo, who are involved in community activities in Ishikawa Prefecture.
The closed community, which had been forced to operate in private homes and karaoke facilities due to funding and other issues, can now operate at I-O DATA's company building, lowering the barriers to participation. The fact that a wide range of people of all ages, including families, can now participate in the community has helped to revitalize it.
