The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association announced that public voting for the Japan Game Awards:2025 "Annual Game Division" - which selects and honors the most representative game titles of the year - will begin on Monday, June 9, 2025.
The voting deadline is Friday, July 18, 2025 at 23:59.

Public voting for the Japan Game Awards:2025 "Annual Game Division", organized by the Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association, is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 9, 2025.
The Japan Game Awards' "Annual Game Division" selects the most outstanding titles that excited gamers throughout the year.
Last year's Grand Award winner "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" was widely considered a deserving result.
Changes Starting in 2025
Eligible Release Period Modified
While previously covering titles released between April 1 and March 31 each year, starting in 2026 the eligible period will change to June 1 through May 31.
2025 will serve as a transition year, with eligible titles being those released in Japan between Monday, April 1, 2024 and Saturday, May 31, 2025.
This change also moves the public voting period from April to June.
Best Sales Award Discontinued
Due to increasing difficulty in tracking sales figures amid the growing prevalence of digital downloads, the Best Sales Award (given to the title with highest domestic sales) has been discontinued starting this year.
Voters Entered to Win Gaming Hardware!
As in previous years, voters will be entered in a lottery for prizes including PlayStation 5 Pro, Nintendo Switch (OLED Model), Xbox Series X consoles, "Annual Game Division" award-winning software, and related merchandise - with 300 total winners across five prize categories:
- Category A: PlayStation 5 Pro (3 winners), Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) (3 winners), Xbox Series X (3 winners)
- Category B: JPY10,000 Apple Gift Card or Google Play Gift Card (20 winners total)
- Category C: Japan Game Awards: 2025 Annual Game Division award-winning software or related merchandise (100 winners)
- Category D: Tokyo Game Show 2025 admission tickets
- Category E: Special invitation to Japan Game Awards: 2025 Annual Game Division awards ceremony
