The details for the tournament and its rebranding have now been announced.
In addition, it has been announced that PLAYBRAIN will be the host partner and will handle the organization and management of this tournament from 2025, which belongs to the Japan regional league within the LoL Esports ecosystem hosted and managed by Riot Games.
LJL Reborn in 2025
A transformation of the LoL Esports ecosystem will take place in 2025, with a new regional league, "League of Legends Championship Pacific" (hereafter referred to as LCP), spanning multiple regions in the Asia-Pacific, being established.
With this, LJL will be reborn as a domestic league that discovers and nurtures the next generation of players in the Asia-Pacific region and produces Japanese representative teams to compete in the LCP.
The tournament format will be revamped and transformed into an open tournament, and a new LJL is planned to be created where new players with unique personalities can participate.
The new LJL will also welcome not only those who are newly aiming to become professional players but also experienced veterans.

Large-Scale Tournament Format Changes to Be Implemented!
To open a new door to the rapidly expanding and growing LoL community in Japan, it was announced that the domestic league LJL will also undergo significant changes to its format, such as introducing an open qualifier system and a new tournament format.
It is said that these changes are intended to welcome ambitious players, with the goal of improving the overall player base of the league and strengthening community ties, all with a view toward the long-term development of the LJL.
New Logo and Branding!

The new "LJL" logo has been changed to a design that symbolizes the new era of LJL, inspired by the traditional logo and the Nexus, which can be called a symbol of the game!
The 2025 slogan, "REFORGE AS ONE," is said to contain the desire to build the league by having the management, players, fans, and community all working together as one, in addition to the intention of LJL to utilize its accumulated experience and knowledge to the fullest and aim to be a league that leads the esports scene.
New Tournament System to Be Introduced in Addition to the Annual Tournaments!

- "LJL IGNITE" (Mid-May to Mid-June)

*The LJL 2025 winning team will earn the right to participate in the LCP promotion/relegation tournament
Championship Points System
The LJL 2025 season will introduce a new Championship Points system.
Participating teams will earn Championship Points based on their ranking in each regular tournament, and the top 6 teams in the points ranking after the three regular tournaments are completed will be able to participate in the final tournament.
Introduction of the "Open Qualifier System"
With the "Open Qualifier System" introduced from the 2025 season, any team that meets the participation conditions can now enter the LJL!
If a team performs well in the open qualifier, which can have up to 64 participating teams, they will be able to earn the right to advance to the main stage!

In the LJL 2025 season with the newly introduced open qualifier system, participating teams will be recruited from the public.
