Nintendo announced details of its support for the affected areas, along with a message of sympathy for those affected by the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake.
Repairs for Nintendo products requested by residents of areas designated under the Disaster Relief Act following the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake will be provided free of charge from Tuesday, July 28, 2026, through Monday, February 1, 2027.
In addition, the company announced it will donate 50 million yen in relief funds through the Japanese Red Cross Society.
Affected Nintendoproducts eligible for repair include the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, among others.
Products for which repair acceptance has ended are not eligible.
When requesting a repair, if you are using the online repair service, you must include a note stating “Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake” and your repair application number, or a repair request form marked “Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake,” and send the product to the Nintendo Service Center via cash-on-delivery.
If you do not use the online repair service, you must include a note stating “Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake” along with your name, return address, phone number, product name, and a description of the problem.
