The results for the 39th "Famicom National Poll," "What Game Comes to Mind When You Think of Simulation Games?", have been announced, and the top 20 rankings are now public on the Famicom 40th Anniversary Campaign Website!
Even though the term simulation game covers various directions, it seems most of the ranked titles are strategy simulations.
Many early works of simulation series that continue as popular series today are present, showing they were already popular since the Famicom era, such as the Fire Emblem series including 2nd place Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, the Nobunaga's Ambition series including 3rd place Nobunaga's Ambition: Zenkoku-ban, and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series including 6th place Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
At any rate, there are a lot of historical pieces, aren't there?
Many games from the Gachapon Senshi series also ranked, including 17th place SD Gundam World: Gachapon Senshi 3 - Eiyuu Senki which the author voted for, and could this lead to a new title being released...?

It is a realistic strategy simulation game that literally bears the name Famicom, and some likely many people play strategy simulations frequently even as adults because they played Famicom Wars.
Also, Famicom Wars became quite a hot topic because its TV commercial was a parody of a certain legendary movie and had very unique lyrics, so even people who haven't played the game itself might know of its existence.
