Nintendo Co., Ltd. revealed that "Nintendo Switch 2" global sales surpassed 3.5 million units in the four days from Thursday, June 5, 2025, to Sunday, June 8, 2025.
This pace is reportedly the highest ever for the company's dedicated game consoles (according to Nintendo's research, including "Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Set," "Nintendo Switch 2 Japanese/Domestic Use Only," and "Nintendo Switch 2 Multi-language Support").
"Nintendo Switch 2" features significantly improved processing speed and graphics performance compared to the original Nintendo Switch.
With new gameplay possibilities introduced by Joy-Con 2, many new titles are also slated for release from summer to winter 2025.
Nintendo Switch Exceeded 10 Million Units in 9 Months

The original Nintendo Switch, released on Friday, March 3, 2017, surpassed 10 million units in global sales approximately nine months later, on Sunday, December 10.
Given that there were approximately 2.2 million applications in Japan alone for the first official lottery sale of "Nintendo Switch 2," it's clear that the market has not yet been fully saturated. It's expected that the phenomenon of units selling as quickly as they are produced will continue for some time.
The results of the fourth official lottery sale for "Nintendo Switch 2" will be announced after Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
