The home gaming console "Nintendo Switch 2" was finally released on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Measures against resale became a hot topic, sales conditions for retailers were strict, and it was even announced that a considerable number of people, approximately 2.2 million applicants from Japan alone on the My Nintendo Store, were expected not to win the lottery. However, the Saiga NAK editorial department successfully obtained one! This time, we got the multilingual version of the "Nintendo Switch 2," so we'll unbox it right away!
First, Let's Check the Outer Box!

Ta-da! The "Nintendo Switch 2" arrived at the Saiga NAK editorial department. While trying to suppress our eagerness to unbox it, we first checked the outer box.

This time, we won it through the My Nintendo Store, and the shipping box had "No leaving at the door!! SD Self-Delivery" written on it. A sticker was affixed to prevent theft, which has become a recent issue.

The "Nintendo Switch 2" that the editorial department obtained this time is the multilingual version. While the "Nintendo Switch" package was rectangular, the "Nintendo Switch 2" package is square.

This is what the back looks like. You can tell the size of the "Nintendo Switch 2" just from the package photo.

The Long-Awaited Unboxing!

After checking the outer box, it's time to unbox it! It's time to meet the "Nintendo Switch 2"!

When you open the box, you'll find instructions on how to get started.

After removing the box containing the display and Joy-Con 2, the second layer contained the dock and grip.
Check the Contents!

The contents of the Nintendo Switch 2 multilingual edition are as follows:
- "Nintendo Switch 2" console
- "Nintendo Switch 2" dock
- Joy-Con 2
- Joy-Con 2 strap
- Joy-Con 2 grip
- AC adapter
- USB Type-C charging cable
- Ultra High Speed HDMI cable
The Ultra High Speed HDMI cable adopted for the Nintendo Switch 2 is also included, so there's no need to buy it separately.
Check the Console!

First, the "Nintendo Switch 2" console itself. The "Nintendo Switch 2" display size has increased to 7.9 inches. It supports HDR with a refresh rate of up to 120fps.

It's this much larger compared to the "Nintendo Switch (OLED model)." You can expect a more immersive gaming experience.

The freestop stand on the back of the console also allows for free angle adjustment.

It offers a wide range of angle adjustments, so you can play in your favorite position!

The card slot for inserting a separately sold microSD Express card is located by opening the stand on the back. The built-in memory of the console has increased to 256GB, which is 8 times more than the "Nintendo Switch."

Regarding the interfaces, an additional USB Type-C port has been added to the top, making a total of two with the one at the bottom. Other features include the power button, volume buttons, game card slot, headphone jack, brightness sensor, and...

A new microphone has also been added to the top!

The bottom has a USB Type-C port and speakers.

The Joy-Con 2 also feels larger in size.

The SR and SL buttons are also larger, making them easier to press.

And the newly added "C button" on the Joy-Con 2! Pressing the C button allows you to enjoy voice chat.

The release button on the back is also larger and easier to press!

Attaching it to the console is magnetic, not sliding. The magnetic force is strong, so it seems unlikely to come off during play.

Here's how it looks when attached to the console.

To remove it, simply press the release button on the back.

Next is the "Nintendo Switch 2" dock.

Compared to the "Nintendo Switch (OLED model)," it has a more rounded form.

Removing the back cover reveals USB Type-C, HDMI, and wired LAN cable ports. There are two USB Type-A ports on the side.

The back of the dock also has non-slip pads to prevent it from sliding.

Here's what it looks like with the console attached to the dock. In addition to its increased size, it has a cool, substantial feel.
