STAR WARS, whose first film in the series, Episode IV: A New Hope, was released in 1977.
It is no exaggeration to call this work a monument of sci-fi cinema, and in 1983, Episode VI: Return of the Jedi was released, marking the end of the original trilogy.
Then, 16 years later in 1999, Episode I: The Phantom Menace was released as the first film of the prequel trilogy, telling the story of why Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader.
The year 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and in 2023, the production of the new drama series The Acolyte, which takes place long before Episode I: The Phantom Menace, was announced.
While the announcement that it would be exclusively distributed on Disney+ in 2024 became a hot topic, the release date has finally been announced!
It will be exclusively distributed on Disney+ starting Wednesday, June 5, 2024!

Additionally, battle scenes where an enemy wielding a black knife engages with Jedi, as well as the appearance of the Wookiee race familiar to Star Wars, were also confirmed.

The teaser also revealed the appearance of the red lightsaber, a symbol of the Sith, and Jedi standing against a mysterious enemy.
Story
“The Acolyte” Official Disney+A hundred years before the rise of the Empire, the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic have prospered for centuries without war. During this time, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past.

Additionally, in the newly released poster, a state where red blood is splattered on a lightsaber was revealed.
While the poster makes one imagine a red lightsaber, this work is set approximately 100 years before Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and the story approaches the mystery of the birth of the Dark Side as its shadow creeps into the golden age of the Jedi.
When thinking of the Dark Side, one tends to imagine the Sith, but in the Jedi Council scene that appeared during The Phantom Menace, there was talk that the Sith had perished 1,000 years ago, until Darth Maul appeared before the Jedi to make known the resurrection of the Sith.
Whether the enemy appearing in The Acolyte is a Sith, and given it is 100 years before The Phantom Menace, we also find ourselves expecting the appearance of Yoda, but let's wait for further news while speculating!
