Nintendo announced in the " Nintendo Direct 2026.6.9 " broadcasted on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, that a completely new game in the "Xenoblade" series, " Xenoblade Genesis," will be released in 2027. "Xenoblade Definitive Edition", "Xenoblade 2" and "Xenoblade 3" Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will also be released in 2026.

The story takes place in " Anchal," a world with six suns, where diverse nations are constantly at war with each other and "instrumentalists," who freely manipulate and wield "anima," the source of everything that makes up the world, as the central players in the conflicts.

The main character is a girl named " Eleanor " who comes to "Ryukos," an academy for instrumentalists, and is given an "anima crystal stone," a stone that amplifies the power of instrumentalists.

As in the series, Tetsuya Takahashi of Monolith Soft will serve as general director. The music is composed by Yasunori Mitsuda (@YasunoriMitsuda ), Mariam Abounnasr (@MariamAbounnasr ), and Aimi Kiyota (@manamikiyota ). ANÚNA (@Anuna_Choir ) participated in the chorus. The character design is jointly done by Mai Yoneyama (@yoneyamai ) and PALOW. (@PALOW_ ).
