The "Nekketsu Kuniokun" series is a popular game series that first appeared in arcades in 1986 and continues to release new titles to this day.
In addition to the familiar belt-scrolling action games, the Sports series, in which players try their hand at various sports such as dodgeball, soccer, and field hockey, is also popular. I like "Jidai Geki da yo Zen-in Shu-go" the best.
I'm sure there are a few of you who experienced the real-life brawls of your childhood when you and your friends played "Jidai Geki da yo Zen-in shu-go".
The latest title in the Kuniokun series, which has been loved for over 30 years, has just been announced!
And the main characters are not "Kunio" and "Riki" as in the past!
The main characters of this new title are "Misako" and "Kyoko"!
As you may have guessed from the title "River City Girls", the main characters are female!
"Misako", Kunio's girlfriend and the heroine of the series, and "Kyoko", Riki's girlfriend, will go on a rampage.
The character designs and game screens have been completely redesigned to create a cute and pop atmosphere.
Of course, "Kunio" and "Riki" will appear in the game, so don't worry.
Co-developed with Wayforward
Arc System Works, Inc., which currently produces the Kuniokun series, and Wayforward Technologies, which produces the Shanti series, have teamed up to develop this title.
The animation and comic effects will give the game a world feel that has never been seen before in the Kuniokun series.

"Nekketsu Kuniokun Gaiden River CityGirls" is scheduled for release on Steam, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in September 2019. Other than that, details are a mystery at the moment, with only a teaser site and a PV available.
